it's my Monday

Yesterday I finished my cards! That was pretty much all I worked on and I stayed up late doing it. I did also make a post office run because something else beeped as being in the mail and it was my other makeup subscription thingy assortment! This one had a Tarte lipcrayon which I love, and a gold eyeshadow which is nice, and a shimmery peach blush which is great, and a large soft makeup brush which is perfect, and...was there something else? Maybe. But I got a good assortment of things! Dig it a whole bunch. I wore them today, well the eyeshadow and blush and lipstick, and I felt very pretty. Lippy had good lasting and wearing power, and the gold was subtle. Nice look on ol' Trill. It was an exhausting day. Fluffed three rooms, turned two, learned how we iron napkins, practiced greeting guests a bit. It was a coffee in the morning, coffee at lunch day. It got me through.

At home I did laundry and did comic and rested a bit. Also did a food run at QFC before I got home. Mmm food. Now I sleep! Ma & Pa, keep an eye on your mailbox.

consumerism

I think I'll tuck into bed in a sec. Well I think I'll game a bit from bed. I don't really feel like being out of bed for much longer, and I need to not stay up too late.

Work was good. I need to fluff rooms first I learned, to make sure I get them all tidied before guests returned because I was unable to do one of them on account of the guests returning. I still knocked and asked if they needed anything (towels, etc.) and they didn't. Well they gave me two wine glasses to take down. Anyhoo. Turned two rooms, fluffed two, did the floors. Easy enough shift.

I have tomorrow off then five days on, plus D&D. I will be one tired Trilly.

I talked to a watch repair person (on the phone, the shop was closed because they left early) asking about an estimate for repairing my Swatch and they said they can't do it because they are hermetically sealed when made, so I'd have to send it off to get repaired. I don't know if I want to do that, what if I don't get my watch back? I miss wearing that watch though. I love it so. OH JEEZE I just looked it up and you can still buy that style of watch but wow that was a generous gift I technically stole from mom back in the day. I still defend she wasn't wearing it. Ohh there's a much cheaper one on eBay...still. I'd know it wouldn't be the one I wore for, goodness, a decade???

But some people absolutely do buy the same thing over and over because it's served them well. I liked the metal of the band, because leather and plastic bands are often constricting. And it had an easy to read face. And it would do Douglas Adams proud to NOT wear a digital watch!

Hey Dad, you removed a few links from it right, to make it properly sized? Because if you still have those, then I could just remove the face and wear it as a bracelet... still. I really like telling time on it. Well with my monitor on order I can't really do any unnecessary buying for the time being. At least I know what to search for now the line, and it's nice they still make them.

*sighs*

I also got oil and Cheerwine from the hardware store. Car was low this morning and I put the rest of what I had in 'er.

When I got to my mailbox one of those beauty subscription thingies had arrived! Hurray! This one was Birchbox, which is high end sample focused. I got a decent sized trial size of this leave in conditioner, which I'm always excited for. My leave ins always seem to last a long while too, even when it seems like I'm using a lot of product. In truth this is almost half the size of the full which retails for considerably more than the subscription so good deal on that. Also came with some smaller samples of matching shampoo and conditioner. It also had a full size of this cute matte pink lipstick:

Don't mind the face, I like it! Fun shade! Pretty happy with the selection. Got big sizes of the things I want to use a bunch, and smaller sizes of the things I want to try but don't care too much about being precious with. There were some other face good things. The way I tailored my subscription was towards hair products, fun makeup, and a bit of skin care.

Also the makeup look that photo is the same one I detailed in the comic, plus a shimmery shadow on top. Don't I look nice?

Tomorrow is finish the card day!

Saint Heisey

Seven spot colors down on the card design! Though many of the colors are similar, and I could use fewer colors, it's just easier to do it one dog at a time. There will be a lot of variation in these cards.

So yeah, today I pretty much just painted and watched stuff and painted more. I took a break to do the comic. And had some pasta and an apple with peanut butter snack. Didn't get much else accomplished,

OOh! I also ordered a monitor so now Ma & Pa can get the one I've been borrowing for errr uhhh three months...back. It's a 23"er! Which is five inches bigger than this one which is already kinda big, so now I want to rearrange the desk up here to better accomodate a proper set up. It's a bit crowded and there's lots of old pencils that can be moved elsewhere.

Now that I'm doing more and making more, it's good to commit to making my space better to make in. So that's ANOTHER thing to work on.

So Ma & Pa when will I see y'all? I'm working a whole bunch but you can always come chill. Tho the new monitor hasn't arrived yet. I have the 20th & 21st off. Maybe then??

step by step

A less packed day. Two rooms to be turned and two rooms to be fluffed, though one of the rooms was occupied and they only asked for towels so that was easy! Finished laundry, did floors, had a sammich and coffee with my lunch. That second coffee really got me through. Probably why I didn't need a post work nap. But also two room turns and one fluff and floors is less work than lots of laundry and deeper floors. It varies.
Heather and Daniel continue to be the absolute best! They sent me a little care package of print making supplies. Heather sent me stuff so that I could do a plaster print of the etched plate I bought in Brussels. That should be a fun weekend activity next time pops visits. Dan sent me some improved carving supplies! My v shaped tool was rather tricky and it chewed up my block a little. Now I have multiple!! Ahhh! My next block will look so nice. I have tomorrow off so I plan to finish up my card.

Best pair. Love them a whole bunch.

Now I'm super tired and it's ONLY 11! But work ya know. It's tiring.

one hundredth comic yo

Yesterday was nice. Perfect spring weather where the heat burns off the mist and it turns into a beautiful blue day. Brynne and her friend Lisa stopped by for a day visit. I helped haul a kayak down (with help from Brynne) and they brought the other one down when they decided the one was too tippy for two people. Brynne brought her own paddles and life jackets, which is good because when I got out some seat cushions there were hella spiders in the life jacket box.

I chilled and drew and when I was outside I heard a crashing through the trees and a bald eagle had dropped their fish food on my driveway!!! It was still flopping a bit when I went to scoop it up. YUCK. Eagles don't like rockfish I guess.

Dinner was mixed greens and salmon and rice and clams and yum yum yum. We four (plus Celia) ate outside and all was well.

I printed my cards, though they still need a lot more work. Printing is hard work. Lots of labor!

Today (Sunday) was a work day. I was on laundry duty. Five rooms needed the beds stripped and sheets washed and then the beds made again. Erin had gotten a start on two of them when I arrived. Took me four hours to get all the five done and done, but I didn't wind up sitting around with nothing to do waiting on a laundry machine to finish. That's good time management! Then I got to the towels and then rags and napkins. Booyah. I started to bid adieu at 3 then double checked my schedule and oops I was there till 4! But the bosses also didn't know I was there till 4 initially, because there was a moment of "oh it's 3! Have a good day". Hehhe. So that was just enough time to vaccum and mop the main floor, and finish folding all the laundry save for the rags which were still flopping in the dryer when I left.

Boss had left over pancakes when I arrived!! I ate two and Erin had the other two. And I ate the leftover yogurt parfait that was accidentally made extra. Can't say no to free food, even if dairy doesn't agree with my tum tum.

I took a nap after work. Still not in no nap land. Then had udon and egg and drew my 100th comic!

Now to go play on my new computer. Errgg still need to give ma & pa back their monitor.
