I'm thankful for everyone and their company

Didn't write last night because I was tired and didn't feel like summing it all up. So now lets get to three days worth of awesome adventures!

Wednesday:

Got up bright and early and packed up all my things. I felt really bad chaining Holly up. I stuffed her dog house with blankets and filled her bowl with more food than she really needed. Then I drove off and left her for the day, night, and day. In Illustrator I worked on the poster. Lots of little things and listening to music. I left about 20 minutes into Flash to catch the ferry. Parked the car at the ferry and got on the 1:45 right on time. Listened to the hilarious Cabin Pressure. Stood under the aqueduct for a few minutes and then Brynne picked me up and off we went to Bellevue! We chatted and snacked and I found myself allergic to either the dog or the cats. Boo. She took a nap and I watched the first two episodes of Castle. Dan came home and we chatted about books and stuff. Then we went to Flo sushi and it was THE BEST sushi I've ever had. The rolls were spectacular and tasty and just flawless. Best. A great treat. Back at the apartment we watched Sherlock, but we all fell asleep at different points. It is beautiful on their 57 inch television though. All the pores. So beautiful. So high resolution. Too bad we were so tired.

Thursday:

Woke up and showered and had some oatmeal and tea. It is like I never left home! Except I was all allergic and stuff. Dan and I took Honey for a walk. Brynne let me have a cupcake early. A tester. It was tasty. Josh arrived looking sharp. Then I worked on getting ready. Did my hair into dutch girl braids and did my eyemakeup, but then I messed it up and started over. Put on the vintage dress courtesy of mom. Brynne gave me some tights. So nice of her! Oh she also got me an AWESOME sci fi calendar. I need to visit more often. I get ever so pampered. Once all was done, we chatted and I fiddled with Dan's camera.

Then we hopped in the separate cars and headed up to Edmonds. There were several Davids, a Don, a Joan, and others at the lovely wonderful house that was hosting us. One of the guests was a collector of Scottish whiskeys, so I got some education in the finer stuff. The highland variety. The 16 year Lagavulin has my heart. So peaty and smooth and scrumptious. And since I had to drive later that night, I was able to enjoy my samples and didn't overly sample from the collection. Haa.

The gravy was good. Totally wonderful. And it went so well on the lovely turkey. Everything was so good and so perfect. I talked art with much of the company. Don was a retired art appraiser. There was one teenager, but he was a talented piano player so he fit right in. It was a lovely Thanksgiving with lots of good company and food and laughs. All was well and everyone got along. And I didn't have to do any dishes! I got on the 9:10 ferry and rested and listened to more radio comedy. It was a nice ride home. Hardly any other cars, let alone traffic. Holly was excited and happy and raced around once she was off her chain. She was unscathed by her cooping up, but she clearly didn't like it. All her food was eaten.

Friday:

Slept in as much as I wanted. I earned a good sleeping in. Took Holly for a walk and got the mail and newspaper. Holly did her doggie business. I spent the day relaxing on the computer. I'll do my finals work Saturday and Sunday. Turns out I really didn't need to do any grocery shopping. Ten days isn't that long. Ate some bananas. Watched some Slings and Arrows and finished watching The Pacific. Did some portraits. It has been a good holiday.

the day before the day before

For a second there, I thought I had posted for the day. Turns out I didn't.

Anyhoo. It rained all night and through most of the day. Stormy icky rain. I left Holly outside, so that she wouldn't be too pampered by being indoors when it came to chaining her outside for my Thanksgiving night out. Just this once Holly. Just this once.

On the way to school I dropped off a package for mom. Class was relatively uneventful. Studied stuff. Discussed the final. And so on. Swung through Silverdale on the way back home and picked up some snacks at Trader Joe's. Mmm. I've been listening to Cabin Pressure since I finished Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy. Cabin Pressure is hilaaaarious.

Back home I tried to stoke a fire but met with no success. There is no kindling, so it makes it quite difficult.

I eventually gave up, had dinner (salad followed by a hot pocket) and watched Cronos.

Tomorrow, after school, I shall park the car in Bremerton, hop the ferry, and spend the night with Brynne and Dan. The next day is Thanksgiving, which I will be spending with them and other peoples. It is a fancy Thanksgiving, so I'll be wearing my fancy dress (see above). I shall be away from my computer so there won't be a blog post. I hope everyone has a lovely feast. See y'all Friday!

first slush of the season

Woke up at 6am to some weird sounds in the woods. But seeing as it snowed, that was probably just the sound of trees sloughing their weight.

It was already slushy when I was eating my breakfast and getting ready for the day. Left to doggie inside and took the Prius. In Illustrator I finished up the chapter 12 work and started in on the poster project. Two projects due and some extra stuff. There is also some journaling that needs doing. Due next week. Ahhhh!

In Flash I figured out how to get audio to stop when you exit a scene/the scene finishes. So now all the links and stuff are working, just need to figure out what else I'm going to animate and what music to put with it. Left at a bit after 3 and returned to Holly, who was very good. Took her on a walk right away and she utilized the time for lots of...relief. Good doggie.

Spent the rest of the night eating, doing my nails, and talking to Auntie Brynne about Thanksgiving plans. Low key night. This weekend will be a crunch time I reckon. Getting it done and all that. Then Christmas breaaak!

a day in front of the fire

Awww yeah, today was great. I got up at about 9ish and put the dog outside, and then went back to bed for a few more hours. Then I got up, had some tea, and watched a few episodes of The Pacific on mom's laptop. I spent most of the day downstairs on her laptop, keeping Holly company while I did my internet business. I stoked a great fire in the fireplace. A warm awesome fire. I sat with my back to it and ah it was wonderful. Watched Misfits and tooled around on the Internet and kept warm. It was nice. A very nice Sunday.

Then I remembered I hadn't done a portrait. So I did a few of those. Now I'm very tired for no reason, so I think I'll try and get a reasonable amount of sleep tonight.

Took Holly for a walk and grabbed the mail from yesterday and today's paper.

She was very behaved though a bit needy at times.

Not feeling lonely yet, but I suspect it will be a cold week.

SAM

Got up at 7 and Dad showed me how to switch over the generator, if need be. He also showed the proposed set up for Holly when I am away for longer stretches of time. I don't want to chain her up but seeing as how the silly thing has wandered off. And Mom still needs to send away for a proper tag for her.

I caught the 12:20 from Bremerton to Seattle and met Cherish (a PNCA buddy who lives in Kirkland now) at Seattle Art Museum. She got a special deal on tickets. Neither of us had been to the museum since it had been changed, so that was fun. They have some really nice new acquisitions, all though I think the layout of the museum lead to a lot of going in circles for us. Still, it was nice. Painted walls. Good pieces. The really breath taking piece was the Do Ho Suh one. It was fabric that was stitched and suspended and sculpted into looking like a arc that you could walk through and there were projections on the cloth. It was beautiful. At 3:20ish, we went to Uwajimaya and had a late lunch/early dinner, followed up with creme puffs. So good. We chatted and gossiped and caught up. It was really nice to hang with a PNCA pal.

She dropped me off in Fremont and I hung out with Sam for a bit. Unfortunately I missed the 7:50 ferry and had to catch the 9:10. So I napped while I waited and napped on the way home. Doggy was still home and I let her inside. Turned on the heat and warmed the house up. Mmm. All alone for a long while now. Boo.
