Wow. Almost eleven pm. I really did nothing today. But I sort of feel like drawing so I think I'll do that. It is dark but it isn't that late, not body clock wise.
So any advice about getting a job from scratch? The library job was achieved with an inside tip and the custodian job was because no one else wanted to do it. Do I got be a custodian again? I don't mind scrubbing floors so much. Cleaning out disgusting fridges is another thing all together. I should get an Oregon food handler's permit, just to have it so I can apply at more places. I'm up for anything. Well anything legal.
Lindsay came back for about an hour today. She has been gone since...uhh Thursday? She is working on a new light show backdrop. She came, she showered, she petted Ibanez, and left.
I really should just get out of the house. Maybe I'll go to Ikea tomorrow or something. Or Goodwill.
I put up a little mini-bio about me on the PNCA forum website thing. Sort of a pre-scouting system for meeting new Gooselings. Possibly a roommate. Dunno.
My blister is healing pretty well.

lock the door and brush the cat
Chelsey and I went to the waterfront to take in the fireworks. She brought along Peanut, a dachshund/chihuahua mix that she is taking care of for the night. It was a fun little meander to the water. We sat on the grass but it was a bit damp. We stood for the show. They had some nice big booms and it lit up the sky and all the standard firework fare. Pretty cool, no music though. A few people were selling glowing light sabers. I love hearing the bomb and that second of anticipation for what the firework will be. There were two sets going off; one between the Burnside and Hawthorne Bridge and one on the other side of the Hawthorne Bride. It lasted about 25 minutes but it went by in a flash.
The mass exodus of people was...massive. People crossed when they didn't have the walk sign. Peanut was well behaved. When we were sitting down some kids gave him some pets. I couldn't figure out if one of the kids was a boy or a girl. Fireworks are still going off but I can't see them.
Haven't heard from Lindsay in a day or so. Ibanez is in full needy mode.
Bought a variety of foodstuffs because I need some change, just cheese steak fixings, breaded frozen fish, and toaster pastries. Bought Ibanez a brush as a going away present. He doesn't like being brushed as much as Basil does.
Almost done with Wonderfalls. Well I've seen about half of it already. Watched Barton Fink as well. And that was...what? I don't know quite what it was. Not my favorite Coen brothers movie.

170lb puppy
I noticed I didn't have all the parts to put my bike seat back together (I must have missed picking something up when it fell apart) so I had to go in to the shop. Really tricky to ride with no seat. And I bet some people do it for fun! I hurt my toosh when I fell into habit and tried to sit. Ouch.
The shop guy revealed that the bolt had broken in half. They also didn't have a spare in stock. I opted to replace the fastener thingie instead of waiting for the part to come in (the fastener was funky anyway). The guy did it right there. No waiting for an opening. That was awesome. Well I had to wait a little while he did it. I sat next to this lady who had her two dogs with her in the shop. One was a little purse dog named Georgie and one was a Mastiff named Otis who was very lovely. I gave Otis a good scratch behind the ears and he flopped over and put his paw on me. It was a sweety. HUGE dog. Unbelievable it still has some growing to do.
I zoomed to Floating World Comics after my seat was reestablished. Huzzah! I am capable of doing things and fixing things!
The comic shop had some Boys issues in. There was a small sale table but it didn't have anything the excited me. One of the guards at PNCA was in the shop. We chatted a little bit. It was pretty busy for 3pm on a Thursda...OH SHOOT I just realized it is First Thursday today. Aww dang. Oh well.
Read my comics. Watched Wonderfalls. Ate some food. Couldn't decide if I was warm or cold.

back to bike-sics
They put in a green area on 14th and Burnside. It is a little space painted green on the right most lane. It is a spot where bikes can park in front of cars so that they don't get run over. A safe spot. A way so that cars don't go into our lane to turn because we have right of way. It is pretty neat. A nice shade of bright green as well.
It was nice hanging with Jim. It has been a while. I've missed all my friends. We watched Gotham Knight which is a collection of Japanese animated Batman cartoons. A couple were done by some of the people who did Tekkonkinkreet. It was fun. I thought one was done by Satoshi Kon, but it wasn't. After we walked around the neighborhood and I got some ice cream. 70 degrees is a good heat for me. It works.
I paid the deposit on the next year of Goose Hollow living. Huzzah. I refilled out the form saying what I want in a roommate.
My legs are very sore from all the biking. Across the bridge, up hills both ways, and in the sun; that's no fun.
Finished watching season 2 of Dexter. That is one damn fine show. No cliffhangers. Lots of nail biting. Now what? Oh yeah...job. Bleh.
When I was riding home my bike seat fell off. It just detached and slid right off. Thankfully I was mostly out of traffic and had a spot to stop and pick up the seat and screws. Seems like a quick fix. I could never get the bolt tight enough on it. It was always wobbly. I didn't have far to go, but even a half mile with no seat is a lot of strain from a standing pedaling position.

Zelda Zonks
333 posts. Whoo!! Almost to the one year mark of blogging. Go me!
I had a nightmare about Zombies. Kind of sucked because it took me forever to get to sleep and to have a nightmare? Argh.
Finished reading Snuff. I knew I had to watch out for that book. The last 30 pages were nail biting. All that build up and it still caught me by surprise. Oh that Palahniuk! What a master.
I painted my nails. Watched Dexter. Not much else really.
I am really tense and stressed out right now, for various reasons. I'm just trying to relax by distracting myself. It isn't going so well.
Going to visit Jim now. Bye bye.

Mmmnn
Bad news. Lindsay won't be attending PNCA next semester. The expense was too much. I hope she will return.
Turned in my housing form. But will I really be staying here? A good reason for being here was having such an awesome roommate to survive the Goose with. Now, I just don't know.
Warm day. Cooling down a little. Perfect summer heat really. Not to an extent that kills a person.
Rented some DVD's and books from the library but I spent the day watching Dexter. In a few more days I will be done and will have to find something worthwhile to do with my time. The apathy followed me. But it was a long year full of changes. Well long two years as I didn't really have much of summer before due to having to take Biology.
Hmmm.

a day at the beach(s)
Well, this morning, the bottom of my foot fell apart into one big painful blister. I've been limping around all day.
It was warm when Karen, Robin and I left Portland. Not sizzling hot but still we were excited to go to the beach. Karen filled up at a secret Radio Cab gas station and off we went. We had plenty of snacks and waters and sandwiches. All sorts of tasty tastes. As we approached Canon Beach the weather became cloudy and cold.
The other had layers but I was just in a shirt dress and a bathing suit. I was shivering. Karen lent me a little cardigan. The sand was warm but still it was cold. The ocean was too far out to play in. We did make a sand castle and sit for a while. Robin's sandwiches were the bee's knees. A sort of sandcastle was built.
I picked up salt water taffy in town as a treat for everybody(and a thank you for Karen for doing all the driving) and we went to Seaside to see if the beach there had sun. I hobbled along behind the girls and indeed it was warm! We found a nice spot near the dunes and sunbathed. It was still a little overcast so we didn't get overheated or burnt (my face is a little red but not bad at all). It was great just sitting around and gabbing.
There was some hobbling back to the car. The blister is about the size of a half dollar. No puny thing.
We were met with rain on the way back. And thunder. And some magnificent lightning. Just picturesque. It made us all go, "woooooaaaaah!!".
Again we hobbled around and spent some time laying about and chatting. Eventually it was time for Robin to catch the max. We all went our separate ways for the night. Busy day. I'm looking forward to sleep.
Ibanez woke me up at 3:00am. He was throwing up. He barfed on my sandals. The brown ones my host mother bought for me in Japan. Had to throw them out. It is the second pair of my shoes that he has puked on.
