History of Laughter covered... actually I am drawing a blank. We kind of went over the same stuff that we had gone over in class before. I know that I gave a good definition for the difference between dirt and earth (dirt is just earth that has been misplaced).
Bekka and I are making plans to have a little show in the PNCA library. Tomorrow during lunch we will sort out the details.
History of Printmaking was far more memorable. We looked at Durer and finished one of Morgan's books that have awesome etchings. Talked about St Jerome and how he beat himself with rocks because he was thinking of naked ladies.
For lunch, I took a trip to Trader Joe's. Bagels, bananas, apples, bread, pasta, and I grabbed three microwave meals that were like, 1.99 each. If I like them, then I will stock up on them. I need to stop buying lunches all together. It's adding up. Laziness costs! I also bought this PB & J candy bar. It was raspberry and peanut butter coated in chocolate. It was gluten free so I broke it in half and shared it with Diana.
The rest of the day was scheduled as this: 3:15-6:16 work on artwork. 6:30-8:00 yoga break to relax and rejuvenate. 8:20-2:30am art work time.
I got back at 3:15. I paused going into the elevator to talk to Jaymee as I left. In that pause my keys fell out of my hand.
They fell and slid perfectly into the crack in the elevator door.
Fell all the way down.
I don't like to swear in this blog but goddamnit, that shit sucked.
I went to the main office and told them. They called the elevator company and after discussions, there were three options given:
1: pay $105 to get the elevator people to come over and open the maintenance door and retrieve the keys.
2: pay $80 to replace the keys and hope I can find my spare Kryptonite bike lock key, otherwise that's another $30-40 for a new lock.
3: wait till the second week of October for the elevator check up.
The guy at the front desk was nice and loaned me a set of spares no cost. After years of torment, the Goose did something good. I'm going to wait for option 3. Tomorrow I'll go to the front desk and tell them this and sort out what I'll have to do when the time comes to get my keys. For the time being, I'll have to call Katie to let me in or wait for someone to do so. I'll also have to stash my bike somewhere safe on campus.
So I cried. And took a shower to relax. And at 4:30, I sat down and started drawing. I got one of the male figures roughed in and the other half way done when I left for yoga. Yoga was intense. Miss Mona was in the class, as well as Tam/Tatum. Two new faces. It was great to just focus on yoga and work out and sweat and stretch and squeeze the anxiety out of me. I returned relaxed and pretty content despite how much it sucks to loose your keys. I talked with Katie. And then sat down and drew and painted from 9:00-2:20, at which point, I took a break to write. I'm going to put the final touches on it now. Come morning, I'll remove the tape carefully with the aid of my hair dryer (it loosens the glue).
I'm really excited about this piece. Yeah it's suggestive, but it's fun. It also is what I like to do and I tried out a new method. It has some problems, but I'm here to learn. I'm excited for critique. I don't know how it will play out.
TV watched while working: Glee episode 4 (finally, it is up to parr with the pilot episode), So You Think You Can Dance (oi, can we get to Vegas already!), Lost (rewatching first season on Hulu, might rewatch more because it seems to have all of it on Hulu), and Peep Show (the characters are so delightfully sad and hilarious at the same time).
