Some of the preliminary sketches for my current Illustration Studio class. We are to do a Cole Phillips cutaway style image. The skirt, the arms, and the headband are designed to not have an outline and are defined by the negative shapes. The top image was the second, more formal sketch, and the bottom is the third drawn with references (which Katie was nice enough to pose for).
