I think I'll tuck into bed in a sec. Well I think I'll game a bit from bed. I don't really feel like being out of bed for much longer, and I need to not stay up too late.

Work was good. I need to fluff rooms first I learned, to make sure I get them all tidied before guests returned because I was unable to do one of them on account of the guests returning. I still knocked and asked if they needed anything (towels, etc.) and they didn't. Well they gave me two wine glasses to take down. Anyhoo. Turned two rooms, fluffed two, did the floors. Easy enough shift.

I have tomorrow off then five days on, plus D&D. I will be one tired Trilly.

I talked to a watch repair person (on the phone, the shop was closed because they left early) asking about an estimate for repairing my Swatch and they said they can't do it because they are hermetically sealed when made, so I'd have to send it off to get repaired. I don't know if I want to do that, what if I don't get my watch back? I miss wearing that watch though. I love it so. OH JEEZE I just looked it up and you can still buy that style of watch but wow that was a generous gift I technically stole from mom back in the day. I still defend she wasn't wearing it. Ohh there's a much cheaper one on eBay...still. I'd know it wouldn't be the one I wore for, goodness, a decade???

But some people absolutely do buy the same thing over and over because it's served them well. I liked the metal of the band, because leather and plastic bands are often constricting. And it had an easy to read face. And it would do Douglas Adams proud to NOT wear a digital watch!

Hey Dad, you removed a few links from it right, to make it properly sized? Because if you still have those, then I could just remove the face and wear it as a bracelet... still. I really like telling time on it. Well with my monitor on order I can't really do any unnecessary buying for the time being. At least I know what to search for now the line, and it's nice they still make them.

I also got oil and Cheerwine from the hardware store. Car was low this morning and I put the rest of what I had in 'er.

When I got to my mailbox one of those beauty subscription thingies had arrived! Hurray! This one was Birchbox, which is high end sample focused. I got a decent sized trial size of this leave in conditioner, which I'm always excited for. My leave ins always seem to last a long while too, even when it seems like I'm using a lot of product. In truth this is almost half the size of the full which retails for considerably more than the subscription so good deal on that. Also came with some smaller samples of matching shampoo and conditioner. It also had a full size of this cute matte pink lipstick:

Don't mind the face, I like it! Fun shade! Pretty happy with the selection. Got big sizes of the things I want to use a bunch, and smaller sizes of the things I want to try but don't care too much about being precious with. There were some other face good things. The way I tailored my subscription was towards hair products, fun makeup, and a bit of skin care.

Also the makeup look that photo is the same one I detailed in the comic, plus a shimmery shadow on top. Don't I look nice?

Thursday:

Hmm. Kept it mellow! Had some poptarts and did some work from home and just kinda chilled. Didn't get up to much, just did my usual thing. Had some pasta for dinner.

Friday:

Big fun long day! First thing first, I updated my website. Loaded up new sketches, a few new illustrations, and generally made it not stuck in 2014. I really need to make new bigger work, because I haven't produced much to update it with. Still, it's good to update it.

I showered and headed out to Poulsbo for errands. Did one errand that is a bit private, but it was a good thing.

Made a hair dye and chocolate orange run. I'm glad chocolate oranges are only available during this season, because damn I love them.

Then I went to downtown Poulsbo to go to this salon appointment that I made. Oh! I actually called a salon to make an appointment early in the day. I looked it up and they had discounts for the "trainee" stylists. I figured a trainee at a salon would be just fine. They told me it would be Bailey, and I'm just noting her name (might be spelled differently) so I can remember it the next time I need to get my hair cut. The gps took me to the wrong hair salon though, but I made it to the correct one on time.

Oh what an amazing time at the salon! Bailey was attentive and easy to talk to. Got the shampoo AND cut AND a bit of style for a very agreeable price. She took her time, which I loved. I was her last appointment of the day and I was in no rush. I assume last appointment because the shop closed at 5 and I was there are 4. I wanted my bangs back, but softer this time. Less blunt and full in volume. She did a great job at doing just what I asked for. Now I have a softer bang with long bits that curve around my face. And she showed me how to do a curl with a flat iron and right now my hair is all wavy and perfect looking. I love it. I may have overtipped but she did a really good job, and I get haircuts so infrequently, paying just a little bit more than I usually do (Super Cuts) ain't no thing. I really like the cut.

Afterwards, I went to Central Market and got udon and yakult and eggs and apples. Gotta spend the next two days eating all my perishables.

Unfortunately Averie and Muchim are not coming this weekend. But the weather is cold and it's not the best time to visit. Maybe in a few weeks.

And now I'm watching Jessica Jones and having a great ol' time.

even more eclectic

I'm going down to Portland in a few minutes. I've done my makeup, I'm packed. Probably a bit overpacked for what is a one nighter. Just need to paint my nai-I just paused writing to paint my nails. Hopefully they don't get marred too quickly.

Yesterdat I did some work from home and made a garbage dump run. Juice and milk cartons aren't recyclable anymore! Wonder why. I picked up a beef dip to eat for dinner and I ate it at home.

One project I've been wanting to do is the one where you take a shattered powder makeup and break it into little pieces, add 70% alcohol to make a paste and reform it. I did this, taking powder and putting it into this vintage case I picked up from work. It had a brand new clean looking powder puff too! And it seemed to set pretty well come morning, so I'm stoked for that. Now I can powder my nose in style.

I had a rough sleep because the wind kept me up. Now to head to Portland! Adios!

Saturday:

Slept in and did some at home stuff doing ebay listings and whatnot. It was a rainy day, perfect for being inside. Or was that Friday? Watched some of the new Daredevil show. Ate popcorn. Did a bit of laundry.

Sunday:

Slept in the smaller bed. It's much cozier. The big bed is so...big. And I'm so wee.

Did a bit more work. Did a lot more slouching about. Did a makeup practice:

And took out my earrings to try on others. The new piercing might need a bit more time (though it's well past the heal by date, though I did catch it a few times on my hair ouch!!). I think I'll pick up a matching one tomorrow, and keep those studs in most of the time. Good bye silver hoop! You've served me well but you are much too difficult to put in and out on a regular basis.

Tomorrow I do my last run of shopping for things. My skins been weird so hopefully that clears up!

Finally, after what feels like a year, saw The Grand Budapest Hotel! It was very Wes Andersony. But the way he films shows off the worlds he designs. Great sets and costumes and actors. Also dark, but his movies are often dark. Life Aquatic is still my number one.

Saw the movie with Ryan. We had a quick brewski at 99 Bottles before, then walked around a bit because the 9:15 was sold out. It was a nice night for walking. We tried to get other people to show up or the show, but no takers. Oh well.

Also made myself fancy for the night. Gotta dress up for a Wes Anderson film, ya know!

Work was all solo, so I put my tunes on and got stuff done. A few people picked up some things. I reorganized sweatshirts and shirts a bit. Then I reclaimed 24 screens (as much as the rack will hold). Then I counted out the sweatpants for an upcoming job. By the time I was done with that, the screens were fine to coat. I listened to Stuff You Missed in History, Stuff You Should Know, and Stuff Mom Never Told You. Yay for stuff!

A nice day. Gotta get some stuff done tomorrow, then it is game night!

Oh dang. Today was a total wash. A full do nothing day. I did go to Trader Joe's and get some food stuffs and do a crock pot chicken recipe. So that is something? I just sorta shuffled around the house and let the hours pass.

Didn't draw or read or do anything.

Where did my creative energy go?

Argghhh.

I uncovered a Macy's gift card and it had actual dollars on it, so I went to Mac and used it towards my first Mac lipstick:

The color is "Girl About Town". I'm partial to fuchsias (see: my beloved Covergirl lipstick in Spellbound). I went to the store and did testers on my arm (which is what you are supposed to do, do NOT put testers on your face because of GERMS) and then asked the lady at Mac to clean the lipstick so I could try it properly on. Gotta be sanitary. It applied so well and was so bright. But you know I already bought it. The Mac ladies were really nice. And the lipstick lasted until I ate dinner! Which is always a good sign for lipsticks. I hate it when they wear away in the middle and then you have a lipstick ring.

Stocked up on Yakult at Target. Bought some more compost bags. Had some pasta later on. Took a hot bath-OH I forgot to get more bath salts at Target. Darn. Oh well. As I was saying, I took a bath and read in the bath. That was nice.

Tomorrow I might try a fancy makeup look ala Audrey Horne. Maybe I'll do something in the crock pot? Hmmm.

Guess who slept in? Meee! It was me. And it was nice to do so.

I had my breakfast, then took a bath and read a book. Not my Kindle. Kindles should be used near water. Duh.

I did a little shopping run. Got a new hairbrush. Got some apples. Said hello to Francesca at Trader Joe's.

In the evening, I did my makeup according to several "trends men hate" articles, namely bright/dark lips and lots of eye makeup. Have a hard time caring what random dudes think about what I should do with my appearance, ya know?

The Seahawks are going to the superbowl. I think I heard some cheers from a neighbor, but those cheers died. I'm in 49ers country, methinks.

It was a nice, relaxing day. I turn 26 on Tuesday, so that is exciting. I started this blog when I was 19.

Can't wait to open my prezzies from Ma and Pa!

Friday:

Didn't do so bad on the whole sleep thing.

Oh and The Hobbit was AWESOME! So much fun. The barrel escape is still going through my mind.

But yeah, wasn't so tired at work. Jeff called in sick. I accidentally burned a few screens (couldn't locate the other screens and thought they had been reclaimed. Oops, well I had shown boss that I hadn't located the screens, so he did say to burn them). And I weeded vinyl and did heat pressings. That took a while, though I did end up getting out early.

After work I drove up to Ikea, which is in Palo Alto. I got some meatballs. Because one ALWAYS starts an Ikea trip with meatballs. I knew what I was there for, but still I wandered the market. One never know what they didn't know they needed. In this case I bought some glasses to supplement the cabinets at home. I bought the frames that my Christmas print is going to go into.

Returned home. Worked on my To Do list. Went to sleep.

Saturday:

Slept in, which maybe I shouldn't because I had tons of stuff to do today. But oh well. Had some oatmeal and tea. Did my makeup:

Then I went downtown and... did some Christmas related things. Things that I can't mention because it would give away the surprise. But I really like what I did. Haha.

Went home. Made pasta. Ate it all, even though the box probably said 2 servings. It was too late to go to Trader Joe's for food stuff, so I'll do that tomorrow. Then I'll spend a lot of time drawing! And maybe doing another shopping errand. But I have lots of drawing to do, and it must be done!

Damn. Next weekend I'll be headed home for the holidays! I need to figure out my sixties makeup! Waahhh!

Maybe I'll go bother the ladies at Ulta. Get some false eyelashes. That was a part of the 60s, right? False eyelashes? That Twiggy look. Hmmm.

Woke up so sore. I slept on half my body wrong and my knee was awful.

I weeded 50 feet worth of vinyl, and a different 25ish feet bit of vinyl too. So much vinyl. I burned and taped screens. Helped catch and box. Cleaned squeegees and floodbars, broke down the press. Having Ryan catch really opened me up to do all this other stuff. If I had to catch, I wouldn't have had the time to do all that other stuff. We need a third in the studio.

At home, I relaxed. Had some pasta. I put makeup on just for funsies. Then Tara was all "you're so pretty!" and I was all "awwww". Totally easily won over by compliments. Anyhoo, Tara, Michael, and I went downtown and had drinks and dessert at Hula's. Hula Hula's? I had soda and a "pot" brownie, which was just a brownie cooked in a flower pot. They had tasty pie and booze. I was designated driving. We chatted, I sketched, we ate tasty treats. Mmmm. It was pretty cold. Very cold by Santa Cruzian standards. Regular November cold by Pacific Northwest standards.

Super convenient living within easy walking distance of Target. Need Cheerios and toilet paper? Boom right there. And.. oops forgot to get something. Well. That is find, because it is right there! Though they haven't been stocking airheads in their dollar bin area. And an Ulta opened up in the mall, and they have a superior skin care selection, though right now I'm working my way through some products and seeing how my skin looks. I'll be needing a new bottle of cleanser in a month or so, so don't know if I'll keep with the same one, got back to Cetaphil, or try something new. It's interesting to read up on skin care, and reading blogs that are not sponsored talk about what is "normal" for skin, compared to what products say they'll deliver. And then you'll get posts that are like "make sure to change your pillowcases regularly and wash your headphones if you use over the ear ones" and it's like... duh. One can take care of their skin as much as they like, but if they just rub their face on an old pillow case, it defeats the purpose!

So many sides to everything.

The new hire didn't start today, but I think he'll be in tomorrow.

Today was relatively short. Burned screens. Coated screens. Activated a new thing of emulsion. Cleaned screens to get ready for reclaiming. Hauled the trash down.

The problem with changing your address at the post office is now I am getting all these spam letters. Come on USPS, don't give my address to THE MAN!

designated relaxing weekend

Saturday:

This weekend was a recovery weekend. July is kicking my butt and hard. Lots of emotional stress. Alana is moving out now because she is not waiting for that 2 month notice and to have to look for a place whilst in class. She is moving in with her boyfriend. She just got fully settled and she is so cool. It really sucks.

Janet is working on cleaning out the basement and craft room. Preemptively going through the stuff that hasn't been gone through in a long while. She found her Sound of Music costume, which was an astroturf hat and cape, with a Julie Andrews figure on the top. She was the hills that were alive with the sound of music. Hahaha.

I walked to the Buttery and bought cupcakes, because cupcakes were needed. One for me, one for Janet, and one for Alana and Jared each. But they shared one, so I ended up eating two cupcakes.

I listened to Welcome to Night Vale and cleaned my room a bit. Just some tidying.

In the evening I went to see the new Refn movie "Only God Forgives". Odd to watch a movie where the villain is pretty much in the right, though I wouldn't say he was the villain. Very violent and I hid behind my hands a couple times. Beautiful but...errr. Not my cuppa tea.

Sunday:

Just like Saturday, I slept way in and it felt great.

Had a fried egg sandwich for breakfast. Relaxed. I went to Trader Joe's and got some food.

In the evening I biked down alongside the river to the Tannery (these artist lofts) and attended Marina's game night. Ryan and James were there, and I met Jordan, Jamie, Ariel, Rich, Jim, and Eric. Oh and Adele. A fun bunch. We played 25 words or less and I did exceptionally well in one round. From there we played Apples to Apples. It was a good group for it as well. No one played super literally, which is the worst way to play Apples to Apples.

It was a nice bike ride back. Very quiet. I was going through the park and rode past some cops but they didn't harang me. A little later on another person on a bike asked if there were any cops near by and I said "yes, in the park back there". Am I part of a cohort now?

Ahhh and now it is 1:25 and I should get to bed. Another exciting work week! I'm almost done with Order of the Phoenix.

A short day at work to end a relatively short week as a whole. I did some banners, I cleaned some screens and squeegees, I counted an order that was all over the place (1 red M hoodie, 12 xxl black zips, 3 navy shirts, etc.). I listened to more Divergent, which is pretty good. 

Did I mention that my housemate Amanda put in her 30 days notice? Soon I shall be getting a new housemate. Hopefully a good one. Janet has good taste in housemates. Obviously, she picked me.

I went at the bathtub and bath tiles with Kaboom! cleaner. I plugged in my fan to aid in the ventilation. The tub looks much more shiny, but the grout could use a second assault. It does look nicer though. My bathroom just...doesn't look as clean as it ought.

I got bored so I drew some eyebrows on my face:

I kinda like them. I have such pale brows. I don't know if I have the courage to wear them out in public though. Baby steps.

hair like impending autumn

A lovely day outside. Went to my dental check up. Everything is looking and healing fine. Hurrah! On the way back I impulsively bought hair bleach. At least my impulsions are cheap. I'd be a bad stock broker. Anyway, I spent the afternoon attempting to ombre my hair (a style where the lightest part is at the bottom and it gradually fades to your natural color). And these were the results:

It is a bit more...orange than I'd like. In another month, once my hair has healed (or rather, been moisturized tenderly) I might toss in a light brown color on the bottom, just to soften it up a bit. The good thing about this, is that it is the ends of the hair. The stuff that is first to be cut off. All the good and healthy bits are still good and healthy. Because doing henna one day and bleach the next is not that good of an idea. Still, it worked! It has to settle a bit before I'm used to it, but generally yay hurrah!

Spent the rest of the nice day indoors finishing up my quilt. A movie (the hilarious and lewd Mystery Team) some Red Dwarf and The Last Enemy later, and it is all put together! I just need to do the border and then viola, it is complete! Sure it doesn't look like they most professional of quilts. Far from it. But it is full of heart and love.

Gah, gotta get up early because mom is taking the Prius to the dealer for some car stuff. Will finish the quilt and do portraits tomorrow. Yes. That sounds nice.

Got up bright and early to go to the dentist. Hurray. Actually I have no fear of doctors or dentists.

This time around it was the oral surgery place. It was a precursory exam to check out where my wisdom teeth are at and to set up an appointment to get them removed. I had Curran, who did some work on my mother. On the 11th, I will be going in for surgery to get them removed. Will I be ill a week or a day? They are going to have to cut the bejeezus out of my mouth to remove them, so I have a feeling I'll be taking the week. A week to watch MI-5 and other stuff on Netflix! Hurray! And then the wedding. I went to JC Penny's and looked at dresses for the wedding. There were cute dresses that were not available in my size, and cute dresses that are not appropriate for a wedding. Went to Walgreen's and put in my prescription for the two painkillers for after the surgery. Huzzah! Bought some hot hair rollers as well. Whee!

Back at home I played with the rollers. I am having trouble getting the curl to stick in my hair. It goes flat. More hair spray? Use a mousse? But they do give the effect I like...for about 30 minutes. Read a chapter. Just one.

Dad came back and slept the rest of the day away. Ma and I hauled National Geographics up and watched Tales From the City. It feels weird to be tired at 11pm. Tomorrow is a picnic. Now I need to work on getting things finished before my surgery. Quilt. Portraits. Author August is almost upon us!

And now my inconsequential school week comes to a close. While Kristen was in the shower, I prepared a nice lunch for myself. Benefit of so little class days: don't have to buy lunch hardly ever! So I made up a tuna sandwich and filled a baggie with almond slices and a couple of the sweets from Trader Joe's. Go me!

The first half, the pre lunch, section of class was a discussion of website and the syllabus. Then we looked over our sketches. There are some really cool pieces that seem to be happening in these sketches. The assignment was to art direct one another. So pieces that played to our strengths while also challenged us. It's quite cool. During the lunch break I showed Danny how to kern in Photoshop. Then I ate my sandwich and watched an episode of Bob's Burgers with Jeff. After lunch we walked down to the Museum of Contemporary Craft for the Era Report show. I was mostly caught up with the book exhibit, that had Anthony Roberto's amazing thesis in it. There was also a book that if you read every other word....it was quite scandalous.

The curator of the Era Report show was there and he gave a little talk. He was a nice fellow. Looked very much like a "character". I stuck around a bit to look at the books and then walked back to school. Texting mom.

I was trying to get mom to talk me out of henna dying my hair. Tried to get her to give me a lecture in not being impulsive. All she said was to go for it! I talked to Karen, who told me to go for it as well. So when I got home, Kristen and I walked up to Lush to pick up the henna. I went for the Caca Marron color, which was to be an auburn shade. It comes in this brick. They didn't have any spare gloves so they gave me some freebies to make up for it (like the balm and a leave in conditioner). I had some gloves at home, so no worries. Kristen dyed her hair (with drugstore dye) first. While I worked on breaking up 5/6's of the brick into little bits. Hammered and grated and crushed. Took a good while. Then I put the bits in a heat resistant bowl and covered them with boiling water. Let that sit. Mixed it up. Then I put that bowl in a larger bowl filled with boiling water, so that it heated up further. When it was hot enough, and with MUCH help from Kristen, I slathered it on my hair. It was gritty and drippy and oh what a mess. It was all over the sink. I then wrapped my hair up into a saran wrap turban. And waited....I worked on the dishes. The henna kept seeping down my face. Had to constantly wipe it off my face. If my hands were not such a mess, I have have been inclined to take a picture.

After about an hour, I washed my hair. Then as I was hair drying, I blew a fuse. Went down to Ace Hardware and bought some. Returned. Replaced one. Then when there was light I saw how fantastic my hair really was! It was perfectly subtle. A nice auburn tint. Really nice. All though now the smell is giving me a bit of a headache. But damn if it isn't worth it. Sort of.

Anyway. Watched Community. Another sort of "meh" episode. Come on, you can do better Community. Ate some microwaved stuff for dinner. Now to work on thesis stuff. Got a Martin meeting tomorrow.

Decided to sleep in. My body hurt so much yesterday I figured that it needed the rest. Had my usual scramble and tea. A good way to start the day: protein! I'm working hard at getting the food groups. Veggies, protein, dairy. And sweets. Always sweets.

Anyway. My skin looks so bad today. Bleh. Don't know what happened. I think I'm fussing with it too much. Maybe using too heavy of moisturizers or scrubbing too much. I'm almost out of my Ocean Salt Lush stuff, so I think I might try a different fancy goop from there.

Went to school to meet with Joan. Just a short little thesis meeting to touch base and talk. Her conversation with Rachel went long. In our conversation, I mentioned being unaware what I wanted to argue in my thesis. I then started talking about the preciousness that people apply to the word art, and then Joan said that there was my argument: art shouldn't be this word synonymous with good, precious, fine, quality, and so on. Art is art and shouldn't be relegated to just "nice" things that have no function. What of architecture and craft? Anyway, pretty broad thesis right now but I'm also talking about gift. I think I can whittle it down.

Afterwards I returned to my studio and got to cleaning it up. It has become a bit of a depository for stuff and less of a work space. Recycling a lot of old pages. Put away some flat work. Stowed some stuff in this book shelf that Karen left in my studio. She also left a paper garland and her spray painted yellow folding chair. It is a nice looking space once again. All Robin's egg blue and red, with white accents and the yellow chair that stands out vividly. I love it.

Went home. Ate a salad. Went on Tumblr and looked at art. Then I took my birthday money and went up to 23rd. Went into Lush and talked to them about skin care. The nice face lotions are out of my reasonable splurge price range. I think I need to work on the cleansing part of my skin care first anyway. So much nice stuff in Lush. They even have henna to dye your hair with. I wonder if doing a Henna rinse might be a nice change of pace for me. It isn't permanent, right? Maybe going redder for a bit...hmm. Or darker. Or maybe just pump up the color in general. I haven't done any sort of dye to my hair in ages. I'm sort of impulsive about certain things, once the idea is in my head. The odds are good that tomorrow after class, I might return to Lush and talk to them about the henna and by night's fall, I'll have a different hair color. Or maybe I'll regain my senses. Anyway. I got a bit of the Herbalism type facial scrubby cleanser. It seems a bit finer and more gentle than the Ocean Salt I've been using. I wish I had a chance to try some of mom's Mask of Magnanimity. Anyway. Excited to try my new face stuff. I then wandered over to MAC, as I am wont to do when I have some extra cash that has been gifted to me (or earned through art, I like to spend money that is mine on the extra frivolous stuff, as opposed to the money that is for food and art supplies and ohh I need to pay rent soon...). Anyway. I looked at the blushs, thinking of upgrading, and then remembered that a primer for eyelids would also be good to have. Primers make the eyeshadow stick a lot better. Anyway, the lady at MAC was nice and even gave me a little make over! She put on two different primers on each lid, and then eyeshadows and mascara. Gave me some tips. That was fun. And now, many hours later, I still look the same. Thanks to the primer. So I got the primer. Fun fun fun. Next time I give mom a makeover, I'll make it more dramatic and take pictures.

Now that I've blahed about makeup, the idea of changing my hair color has gone. I shouldn't muck with it.

Anyway. Went home. Munched on more veggies. Worked on reading. Worked on sketching. Back to serious school work.

Ahhh what a great nights rest. Cozy bed. Warm bed. Big bed with bedding that may not have the most grown up of patterns. The familiar rattle of the outdated heating system. Perfect. So yeah, stuck around there till one in the afternoon. No one to judge me or to make jokes. Very nice. Had some nice oatmeal for breakfast. Got another drawing up on my other blog, and got tomorrows post ready. After I'm done blogging, I will draw another portrait. Maybe two. Wind down.

Later in the day I went shopping. Went to William Temple House, but nothing caught my eye (but I didn't look too hard). Then I went to M.A.C. and treated myself to a lip gloss (color: Ornamental) and an eye shadow (color: Embark) with some of my Christmas money. A nice gold red color lipstick, and a rich brown shadow. I like browns. Orangey browns compliment my eye color. Anyway, went back home and put my feet up and then remembered I was hungry, so I went to Trader Joe's to get some food for the fridge. Apples, meat, eggs, bread, pasta sauce. I'm pretty simple when it comes to basic foods. Had myself a microwave meal. Tomorrow I'll make myself a delicious scramble. Yum!

Later on in the day I was feeling bored, so I decided to go see King's Speech. I had a free movie thingy from those Regal Card points. King's Speech was fantastic. Lovely little drama about friendship and responsibility. Colin Firth was fantastic. Geoffrey Rush was fantastic. Helena Bonham Carter was lovely. I almost didn't recognize Guy Pearce. Loved it. I left the theater at 9:30 and saw that The Fighter was playing at 9:35, so I went to the bathroom and just hopped into the theater when the trailers were starting. I know, theater hopping isn't the best thing to do, but eh. I pay to see tons of movies. The Fighter was also a good drama, King's Speech was better but then again I'm more into British accents than Jersey ones. Wahlberg was good, Bale did his usual method acting superbness. It was a good tale of choosing to live your own life. Will I remember it in a few years? Probably not. But good acting, and I appreciated that they showed the boxing matches as if they were televised as opposed to overly composed and set to music movie fights.

Rode home after that. My ears are cold. I'm going to go gnaw on an apple now. Mmm.
