oh for the love of it all

I'm tired. I had such a long weekend and so much happened!

KAREN GOT MARRIED! It was a lovely ceremony and reception, it went by quick. Well the reception did. The ceremony was Catholic and some of the cues from the priest were long pauses. But it went well. Lily was cute. Karen was a babe. John was there too, and he's now my actual legit boyfriend! What!???

Photos happened after the ceremony because a bajillion delays. I got my hair done in a big poof, and my makeup was all shabam, though upclose I have some critiques of the foundation application. I looked hot though.

HAHA

My computer overheated and I went to bed. Okay, where was I?

Makeup! It was so much fun to hang out with all the ladies and to have one another oo and ahh as we all got dressed and glammed up. Karen's hair and makeup was first, then last for the finishing touches. The wedding planner did this weird thing where she CANCELLED the makeup artist, so it ended up being an hour behind. What the hell???

So we all got to the church with only time for the first look photo, the one where the groom sees their bride for the first look. Instead of it being at the alter. Then we all lined up and Richard and I mumbled back and forth about what we had to do, and then it was time to walk!

Argghgh I'm so tired. It's sometimes a bit of a chore to sum up an event, especially one so nuanced! I had fun. John met my friends and family. I got to hang out with Lacey and Phil and BT and Evan and Heather and Daniel and Tabitha and Mel and Diana and Alex! And it went by so fast. The food was plentiful and I put way too much on my plate. I didn't drink that much because at the end of the night I moved my car to Manette, then hopped in John's car and we went back to Seattle for the night. In the morning he made coffee, an omlette, bacon, and toast. We sat about reading comics and chatting and listening to music and now he's my boyfriend. He dropped me off at the ferry and I walked back to my car. Karen had my keys, just in case she had cause to move it.

Ahhh beautiful lovely Karen. I shook during my speech but it was well received I think. The props I made for the photobooth (on Thursday I spend time with Karen & co) were used by many.

The rehearsal was a bit rushed and mumbled, and dinner was at the Boat Shed. I devoured some fish n chips. Camille helped finish painting the backdrop after dinner, whereas I finished making the props. They were posterboard on sticks, a bigfoot face, a banana slug, a coffee cup with a logo that was of Karen, Rob, and Lily, a geoduck (which Karen let me keep), a salmon, and a cloud.

Before the rehearsal, Karen, Thea, and I got our nails done. My first ever mani pedi! It was a lot of fun and I liked having my feet scraped down. One of those silly "Million Dollar Properties" shows was on, and we all in the shop poked fun at it.

Weddings must have the most amount of planning per minute of event. So many little things to get done! But it was very nice.

Mom loaned me this rad cactus shirt of hers that I wore to the salon (because you need something that unbuttons so as to not mess up your hair/makeup. It was so rad with sequins and stuff.

And now I've been back at work for two days. First day was breakfast and room turning. Lots of turning, lots of moving plates about. A couple fluffs. Raechel is back, which is nice. And today was more turns and the start of a deep clean. I got the floors done as well, despite it being tasked to Ginger who was frankly overtasked due to a miscommunication about who does what (I was supposed to take on more of the deep clean). I ran a Sequim errand and then just chilled out at home. Nice to not take my usual deep nap that ultimately screws up my sleeping schedule.

SO WHO IS READY FOR SOME COMICS??

yogurt time

And I'm back to work! And it feels weird to be back at it after such a break! Monday was a short shift, with a breakfast focus. Carolyn was there so I just focused on dishes and then clean up. After work, I changed out of my corporate uniform and went downtown. Did some minor shopping and then I went to see Hell or High Water at The Rose. Got popcorn and doused it with Parmesan and yeast. Mmmm! That movie was fantastic! A bank robbery, American landscape, guy movie with some amazing dialogue and brilliant performances. Really engrossing. Did not expect it to be so funny. So good. And it was the matinee so I had plenty of time to go grocery shopping and get home with daylight.

And yes I ate some yogurt. BUT ONLY TILLAMOOK AND ONLY SELECT FLAVORS!!! I'm not a total normo.

Another short shift! 7 fluffs, 1 turn. A lot of waiting for people to vacate their room. Nothing too bad. I did the floors. I brought in my Teavana tea maker, which has the strainer on the top, and had genmaicha tea. It was very good! I like a roasted, earth green tea. Maybe more than black teas.

At home I chilled on the internet, finished Bojack Horseman, drew a comic, and now it's 11 and I'm ahead of what I need to do, so that's good. Hmmm.

Things get busy tomorrow. We got 7 turns and 1 fluff tomorrow! And I need to get all my wedding stuff packed. Thankfully my hair and makeup is taken care of, so I just gotta get my dress and shoes and...well I guess that's it? And a change of clothes too, I suppose.

food comics

8/30

My internet continues to be spotty. This is so frustrating, but at least every time I manage to eek through, nothing important is going down on Facebook. I'm only really down a couple social networks I only use through the internet. My phone gets most of it. Right now I'm writing this in a word doc. Hopefully I can get enough of a window to post!

I wonder if my own internet would be all that expensive and what sort of plan I'd be locked into. I don't have an active phone line out here.

The deep clean days are done, though alas we only got through three rooms out of the five that need it. Or was it six? Yesterday the Stanley Steamer people came out and did the grout on all the floors. I finished Baker and did laundry and the baseboards. Ginger did the upper vacuuming getting the cobwebs. Lots of up and down stuff. I also got the scuff marks off the walls. Really got into all the corners, making it extra nice. It's weird but the rooms really do seem slightly cleaner once we've really gone at them top to toe.

There was a photographer around getting new shots of some of the rooms.

Today (Tuesday) I did floors and turned a few rooms and helped with laundry. Got the tables ready for breakfast. Doing breakfast tomorrow, then I have four days off!

After work I treated myself to a banh mi. I told them how good there's was and how much better it was than one I had recently at another place.

Sunday! Hmm what did I do Sunday? Well the deep cleans began. There was a lot of stripping of bedding to be done, and laundry too. I got the upmost small room, Baker. So I worked on that. Did floors too. Afterwards I worked on walking in my heels. Walked down to BLTC and got a coffee and pot pie and read comics and worked on planning stuff. Then I saw Don't Think Twice. It was good, but emotionally harrowing from a creative producer standpoint.

Now I gotta sleep, then work, then I have a few days to catch up on what I've been neglecting.

8/31

Quick breakfast shift! Had four people and I got it done. Got all the kitchen stuff clean, tended to the rooms and the employee bathroom, and all was generally good. Could have gone a bit speedier, but oh well, no major complaints. Right now we are at a "on top of everything" stage.

Afterwards I went to Goodwill and found pants that fit me!! Wow! And they don't look half bad either. And some shoes that were the 50% off tag color. And a shirt that completes my Waldo costume again, huzzah! Ran into Teddi too, because PT is so small.

At home I took a nap, drew my comic (which the creators of HIGIYM liked!), and now I'm going to finish laundry.

Celia came over with delicious soup. Very delicious.

has it been ten years? really?

Oof I'm tired. Going to tuck into bed, well I'd say early but it's exactly the time I need to be tucking into bed.

Yesterday was a fine work day. Did the breakfast shift and then got onto rooms. Only two turns, with one needing some special care because there were 100% cotton sheets that needed pulling to go back to who borrowed them. And the fluffs took a while to move out of their rooms for us to make them pretty again.

After work I went over to the farmers market and hung out with Jeanette and Randelle and some others. Not a long hang, as I was tired and needed to get home to rest. But it's always lovely to see the crew! Ran was very surprised to learn how much I had aged.

At home I napped and napped hard. Morning shifts are no bueno for me.

Today was my reunion! I was a bit late getting out the door, but it didn't seem so bad that I got there a bit after the start date. Not many people were there (it was a pretty casual hang). Mostly those who had stuck around Kitsap. Talked a lot with Hillary and James and Ross and JC. Not much with the people that were all still friends with each other. I had a hot dog and a couple beers and had a few good conversations. There's some comic gold in there.

Went home and visited Ma & Pa briefly.

Then went to Target and bought new lightbulbs, that were recommended on a blog as being good bulbs for makeup vanity type lighting. Much more blue and bright. And I swung by Trader Joe's. The comic shows me prepping a whiskey ginger, but I ended up not doing that. I'm just going to go to bed and have that whiskey ginger tomorrow. I bought some kefir and boy that stuff is sour. I'll try to finish the bottle but wow.

The lightbulbs are great! I put the 4th in my desk light and the light quality is much better.

Night night.

starry eyed

Another successful shift at work! I got there at the earlier start time and there was a bit of a lag while waiting for work to happen, then I was off to the races! Stripped one room, got laundry going, Ginger arrived, three rooms checked out. Teddi was on laundry till noon. We busted the rooms OUT. With one person tending to laundry it really lets the cleaners go right through rooms. So we busted them out and got on to floors and napkins and miscellaneous things. Watered this and that. Yeah. Helped boss out with some copy for a room.

And there were left over pancakes from breakfast! So good. Nice when that happens.

Filled up my tank on the way home, played FTL and beat the boss again. It was really easy too. Full shield plus cloaking plus having weapon fire not interrupt the cloak. Unlocked a new layout too because I got a certain achievement.

Drew a comic. Drew another thing I've been tasked to draw. Now I'm caught up on what I owe people. I think?

and then I took a nap

Sunday:

Got up at a pretty early hour to meet mum at the ranger station. Drove out with Celia. It was to be a six mile hike so I brought my special hiking toilet paper! And a waterbottle. Ma and Celia had snacks aplenty. First we dropped a car off at the bottom of the trail head, then we drove to the top in the other car. It was the Little Quilcene River Hike I Think That Is What It Was Called.

And it was a perfect day for it! Warm, but not scorching. In the shade, but not too cold. I was very comfortable. I wore my tan Palladiums that I've walked many miles in. Corbie was well behave. We snacked and stopped frequently. I didn't break a sweat, but then again I hadn't recently broken an ankle nor was I carrying a backpack. In retrospect I could have done more to lighten the load.

I saw a really cool plant! Indian pipe or Monotropa uniflora. A cool plant that lacks chlorophyll and is parasitic! Ma and Celia walked right by but I noticed it. Go me!

There were these two ladies and a younger guy that passed us on the way up, and then passed us on their way down.

Four hours and some change we hiked! Afterwards, we ate cake and Ma opened some presents from Celia. It was a long drive back up and down with all the potholes. The Discover Pass wasn't accepted in the National Forest, so they both got a $5 ticket. Oops! I got my voter stuff and back home we went.

I took a nap.

And worked on art later and then went to sleep.

Monday:

7:30am shifts are killer. I can do them in a pinch but holy crap! But actually everything went well. Breakfast was served at a good pace and I had time to get a room stripped between breakfast guests. Plates didn't linger too long. I got everything cycled through. After breakfast I mostly ran point for Ginger. She did bathrooms, I worked on laundry and making beds and dusting and vacuuming. She still did a lot of bathrooms! I did the fluff. But tomorrow I think I'll make sure to get in on the bathrooms. I like things to be even. I don't want to feel like I'm a slacker. Though I did work the breakfast shift, which has its own demands. I was pretty frazzled by the end. Did a grocery run. Deposited the cash from my portion of the tips (whoo!). Went home.

I took a nap.

And worked on art later. And now I sleep.

lots of comics, not much done

OH MY GOOOOOD so I've had a few days of my internet being absolutely rubbish so it was hard to post, on top of my computer continually overheating. Just THE WORST.

So sorry.

So it's Saturday night and the last time I wrote was Monday night. Eep!

Work was good. Got everything done with time to spare on all the shifts. I had Thursday off and I went swimming in the canal, which is a lovely blue shade due to a plankton bloom, and there was a Denny's carton with two slices of ham that someone had tossed in the canal. That was properly disposed of on land. I went to Bremerton after that and baby sat Lily! I changed a poopy diaper even! Rob was home earlier than expected, but I still looked after Lily. Went for a walk. Tried to get her to nap but she was too stoked by the walk. Gave her lots of hugs and cheek kisses. What a great little baby. When Karen returned, Rob took Lily to rollerskating and K & I ran errands and she bought me dinner and we chatted and it was nice. And I was given my bridesmaid shoes which are SUPER HOT and great. Need to wear them in a little.

I saw Star Trek Beyond on Friday. It was fun! A nice straightforward movie with fun moments, and serious moments. But it didn't try too hard to be a big serious movie. It felt very Star Trek. I'm tired of grimdark blockbusters and this was very colorful.

I watered the plants. It's been very hot. So hot. Work is just like hot sweaty time. The fans do very little. I need to go grocery shopping. Down to toast and eggs.

Hmmm. What else has happened in this past week?

It's so frustrating to have computer and internet issues. The new laptop, I need to get a cord so I can connect it to my monitor. Right now it doesn't and my old computer has all my stuff on it so I'm not inclined to switch over, but I am. Slowly. Bit by bit.

open road

Only a couple turns and fluffs the last shift. Pretty easy day. Got it all done. Did the floors. Chatted with coworkers. Ate couple days old cookies. At home I ate pasta and drew and relaxed. And my computer overheated before I got to blogging.

A thunderstorm went by. Lots of lightning and counting one mississippi two mississippi three mississippi... Now I don't need to water! I need to compare my smoke tree, because it looks like it has grown a bit.

I prepared 16 comics worth of panels. Dyed my hair again. To the usual dark brown I've been dying it. I didn't like the reddish roots. And I really like it now that it's dark.

Tomorrow I'm going to Seattle and I'm not coming back till Sunday!

Thursday, July 21, 2016

moisturize me!

My eyes are bugging and it's past my bed time!

Nice day at work. Four turns, I watered the left garden and then realized they meant the other left. Checked someone in. I keep trying to wear undershirts but now I just get so sweaty and I just melt and have to change down to just the regular shirt.

At home I got the "Living Off The Land" achievement in FTL, that was fun. I got a really good weapon in a drop, so that was lucky. Didn't beat the boss tho. The hacking stun is really tough, especially when they get your weapons.

Work tomorrow, then three day weekend!

not going back to that store

Look!  A post!

Today was pretty mellow. I ended up not watering anything, but kept it chill. I played some FTL and unlocked a new spaceship layout because I got to the final sector with the Red-Tail. The Vortex is so difficult!! Anyhoo, and then I took a nice long bath and read a good chunk of The Girl on the Train. It's really keeping me guessing!

Now I think I'll put away dishes and tuck into bed.

catch up

Ahhh am I a week behind at this point? I think I'm finally feeling not tired as all get out.

Okay:

Tuesday:

Worked! Uhm I can't remember the specific shift. Maybe a partial breakfast and turning of rooms? Oh wait it was a deep clean! Yeah! So I started in on turning some rooms and folding laundry.

Casey and Brynne came over, though they'd only been there for an hour when I arrived. They took a walk and I took a nap and we all convened in the evening for dinner at Celia's. It was a nice salmon, rice, salad ensemble. Yum yum! Brynne was up in the garage and Casey had the Queen because she is very pregnant and I didn't want her peeing in a bucket.

Wednesday:

Another work day. I worked mostly up in one room deep cleaning. It had a shower, two tiled spaces, and a tub to be thoroughly scrubbed. I was very thorough, tho I was tag teaming it a bit. Got it done. Moved on to fruit prep and cookies. People checked in, and I was done.

We all took a nap at about the same time. Then it was steak, veggie, and salad for dinner! With a dessert collection of lemon curd tart, cake, ice cream, more cake. Yum! We all had a little serving of everything and declared the lemon curd tart the best, which felt good to me because I'd picked that up from Sweet Laurette's on my way home. Bed time again.

Thursday:

Brynne and Casey both snuck out in the early hours while I was still sleeping. It was a day off for me. I spent it running errands and going to the doctor for the reason why I requested the day off. I left for errands and hour earlier than I should have (was originally going to do them after the appointment but my timing was off). Picked up stuff at Target, went to Ulta and they didn't have the Magic Eraser (makeup remover tool) but they did have like...every shade of Urban Decay's Vice line of lipstick. I swatched a bunch of shades but did not buy any. At Sephora they did have the Magic Eraser! I got it, and my Sephora birthday freebie (a little lipstick and eyeliner). Then I got a game at Barnes and Noble, a book version of Apples to Apples. THEN it was doctor appointment time. Just a check up, check in, update, plus I got a tetanus booster because you should get those every ten years. My arm still hurts. After I went to Seabeck and hung out with Ma & Pa. Saw my apple tree, got food, had toast from their Breville toaster, chatted about Niece Kaylee. A nice little time. Then I headed out again. Got gas. Food at Trader Joe's and I bought a new cell phone! I still hope that receipt will turn up before the 2 year mark. I got it at Christmas so I have a window of time. Just need to finish cleaning and tidying. The new phone is a Samsung Galaxy Core Prime. Not a big phone, but it is light and works fast and I'm digging the features. Alas it cannot play Pokemon Go. Not enough ram. But everything else works for me. And it was much cheaper than phones I was less interested in.

Back at home I got the phone set up and toodled around on the Internet.

Friday:

Back to work! Half fluffs, half turns. I did all the fluffs and we didn't tag team the rooms so much because the way the second person came in made the timing a bit odd. Still, it worked.

Afterwards I saw Ghostbusters at The Rose and it was super fun! Hurray for movies with women in the leading roles! Super classic comedy? Maybe not. A step in a better direction? Ya. I hope this gives rise to more like it. Good silly fun.

Saturday:

And I went to sleep around midnight and slept in best as I could, which was only till 9. I watered the plants. Looking a bit dry out here. Might do another water tomorrow. Rinsed my car, didn't fully wash it. Ate pasta. Played some games. Beat the Rebel Flagship again in FTL. Pretty chill day.

Sorry I let the updates get so behind. I'd promise it won't happen again but it probably will.

here's a taste

Will blog soon. Note to self you'll have to sum up Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Brynne and Casey's during the day arrival on Tuesday with the salmon dinner, then the steak and epic dessert spread dinner the next day. Deep clean. And hella errands on Thursday. That's what y'all have to look forward to!

comics about feet

Whoopsy three days no blog. Well it was my weekend and I didn't go anywhere and didn't get up to much. And my computer was over heating. I played vidya games and drew and cleaned. Got rid of the spiders. Got rid of the same spider twice. Tried to make okonomiyaki with Celia. Next time I'll shred the cabbage more. But it was a damn tasty dinner and it had flank steak on the top. Nums.

Uhmmm. I did my nails in red and blue for the holiday, even though I'm working.

Celia's house looks really nice! She elbow greased the heck out of it.

I need to buy food. I'm going to have one sad PB&J tomorrow for lunch.

Been having some weird dreams.

Tuesday, June 7, 2016

sweet frozen sugar water

Back to work! And I was on laundry, the most brutal of the shifts. Lots of stairs, lots of time minding, lots of constant go go go because if you're not go go going, you've done the timing wrong. Still wound up with the duvet tumbling wet at the end of my shift. Needed to get it into the wash sooner. I could also delay sheets a bit? Towels didn't start coming out till the end of the shift. There were six sets of sheets to be washed! And six rooms worth of laundry! SO MUCH!

And my curry is a'ight. Chicken a bit dry and the rice is undercooked, but it's still edible and tasty.

After the exhaustion I took a long nap at home and planted this lavender I got at work and spread out some mulch on the front porch garden. Drew. Watched the new three part adaptation of And Then There Were None. Relaxed. Now it's nighty night time.

comfortably busy

Almost a week behind at this point, I think barring my road trip I've never gotten this behind.

So where do I begin? Oh! I think I'm going to get my own internet because it's much too difficult to troubleshoot when I'm boosting it from Celia's and a reliable connection would be awesome, and then I can move my wifi booster to the garage so that it extends up there for guests!

Work was fine. Did I cover that I double teamed rooms with Ginger? We did it so fast when we worked together! I also did some gardening. Simple weeding. And a deep clean on one room and now it looks so good. The main offender was removing scuff marks. I need to learn how to make spam musubi. It's so good.

The power went out, and I remembered after the fact it was scheduled. The batteries in the big lamp are dead so I got the propane going no problem (barring maybe turning it up a bit too much to start).

I decided to go down to Portland for Bridgetown Comedy Fest. I want to see more comedy this year and the shows seemed fun and there were some people I wanted to see perform (Eliza Skinner mostly) so I thought, why not take a day and go see a few things? And then since Doug Fir was close to Mel, I asked if she wanted to see a thing with me and she said yeah! So I left at 3 and got to a very warm Portland at 6:30. Parked in residential, met up with Mel and off we walked down Burnside to the Doug Fir, which is a venue I've been to before for a Violent Pink show.

The first show of the night was Baked! which was a combo music and standup thing. Steve Agee and Brendan Smalls fronted a band and did some jokes and there was a bassist and piano guy and drummer and they jammed and I left the program I grabbed at Mel's so I can't double check the names. So they played songs and mashed some up and joked and had doughnuts as it was National Doughnut Day and an audience member tried to stuff one in her face on a dare and she couldn't do it.

Eliza Skinner killed it. She was hilarious and she sung a song with the band and it was AWESOME. Sara Schaefer also killed it. Both excellent hilarious ladies. Julian McCollugh wasn't such a great follow up, though it's interesting to see someone not do totally well. But hey, Portland isn't the best city to make moderately racist jokes in. He wasn't booed but he did get the light (the timing light) and I wonder if that made it so Jonah Ray couldn't do a set. He stilled jammed with the band and was an excellent drummer AND singer. But I'd have liked to have seen him do a set (limited time at the show, ya know). Still, it was excellent and I was happy to have Mel there with me. She's an awesome person!

We hugged and I hoofed it down to Yamhill to see the Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction show at Refuge PDX. A bigger space and I met Evan Dumas there (one half of Man's Face Stuff) who had a pass to the show and is such a great guy that he'd be willing to see a very filthy comedy show with me. The eight comedians were divided into two rounds. One half had prepared material, the other half had suggestions and went on later in the show. So they read out loud written fan fictions about different topics. Slaughterhouse Five, DB Cooper, Party of Five, Star Wars...and it was raunchy and gross and hilarious and awful and amazing all at once. Sabrina Jalees won for her Party of Five piece (which was well deserved and I hollered for her the loudest). Star Wars though, by Dan Telfner (Tenfler err I could Google but I'm lazy) was a close second.

The next round had Gus from The Simpsons by Bill Dwyer. Jurassic Park by err... John F D'Onnell. Another guy did Pantera and he'd obviously not heard of the band and had wikipedia'd them and it was a pretty brilliant piece of writing with lots of references to their song titles followed by "like our song?" "yes, like our song". And Moshe Kasher, you know...from NPR, closed it out with an eloquent narrative about Cthulhu that was...yeah. It was pretty gross and visual. He won. Tried to get Madeline to come to the show but she was tired.

From there, Evan and I walked back up to Burnside for the late show at Doug Fir. We had a nice chat and he ended up not watching the show due to being tired. But it's all good. I sat in the front and sketched and had a blast. Zak Toscani was MCing and he had a nice jacket. Matthew Brossaud Brossard Browhatever is MY AGE and recorded a special. He had really nice hair and a few good jokes. Andy Wood informed us that Ali had died. The murmur of us not knowing rippled through the audience. Bill Dwyer had kinda basic marriage material. Wasn't into it. Nick Youssef was hilarious and had a very tight and well paced set. I tweeted the drawings I did of him and he's retweeted him so he's pretty much my favorite right now, haaa. Sabrina Jalees was on this set too and she was great! My alarm went off during her set and thankfully it was timed well. I felt bad though. Totally forgot it was going to go off (it's a daily regular alarm reminder). Brooks Wheelan was drunk but in his defense it was after midnight in a fun city. And while he also got the light, he wasn't a total mess and did get some good jokes out. Dwayne Perkins closed it out with some kinda dated material about Americans not knowing the PM of Canada. Now they've got that dreamboat Trudeau...we know who their PM is. Still funny. A great set to end an amazing day on. I walked back to Mel and Alain's and we chilled for a bit then went to bed (they have a guest bed). In the morning Mel made AMAZING oatmeal with coconut and bits of apple. And her coffee was great.

After breakfast and chatting, I got in my car and headed north. I used the spare change of clothes I've had in my car for emergencies for several years. Always good to have a spare, and the pants fit better now than when I decided they would do in an emergency pinch (they were a bit tight at that point but not something to be thrown out). So in full pants and a black shirt I drove north and melted and got sweaty and gross and hated everything. I swung through Silverdale and ran errands and went home and stripped down and stood in the Hood Canal for a while to cool off. Then I napped and drew and cleaned house and went to bed.

So I think that brings us to today? Yeah Sunday. Baby shower day. I tidied up a bit. Did some laundry. Went up to Port Townsend for Raechel's baby shower. Coworker, ya know! She had the baby very quick. Early by a few days. I got to hold him for a second. The shrimp I gave to the boss were turned into the meal at the shower. A nice sort of ... shrimp thing to put on toast. Mixed with basil and tomatoes. Really good! Got compliments on the quality of the shrimp. Glad I could contribute. Cake was lemon curd and raspberry and was yummy. It was a nice turn out of most of the crew and everyone was nice. I like my coworkers and bosses. They're a good bunch. AND they said I could put stickers on my work bucket, huzzah!

I helped tidy then I went to QFC and managed to remember all the ingredients for the curry I want to make (I left the list at home). Took me a while to find the coconut milk. At home I got that crock potting, and I washed the car because it was getting a bit dusty and bug splatty. And now my curry is smelling pretty good. So I think on that note I'll go have a bit for a late dinner (actually I need to get the rice going) and tomorrow starts another work week. Then a four day weekend that includes a wedding!!! Then more work. Then might go to Seattle to see John.

My life is comfortably busy and I love it.

bye bye bodi

And my internet is back in the game! I had my system scan going all day. Hopefully that cleared it up? But it's late and time for bed.

Yesterday I worked! And was on laundry so it was ... well laundry. Pulling sheets, making beds, pulling towels, washing towels, getting my order of operations mixed up...it was a lot. But today was a deep cleaning day so whatever was left had time to get finished today. I turned one room and started a deep clean on another. Got the espresso cleaned through and the scuff marks gone and the toilet seat removed and cleaned. Tomorrow will be a ho down on the grout. The hard scrubbing part of deep cleaning. The windows look really nice. As I told boss, it's amazing how dirty an immaculately clean room can be.

I dropped Bodi off tonight instead of tomorrow. It was more driving but it also spared me from doing more driving straight off a shift, and leaving Bodi alone when he needn't be. And I was able to pop my dogwatching money into the ATM so that's going into my account, yay. Stopped by Central Market and got another bottle of my beloved Kewpie mayo. And they had spam musubi in the hot case! Yum! Snacked on that.

Ma and Pa were still home when I got home yesterday. Shrimping wasn't so great which is a bummer. We ate hot dogs and I said bye to them.

Now it's just me again. Like always.

turquoise + red pen = maroon

After reinstalling my Anti-Virus of choice and several long system scans and changing my internet from a "home" setting to "work" it seems to be functioning fine! But also I spent large portions of the past few days just not wanting to be bothered with fussing with the internet, so I just walked Bodi and played FTL and drew and whatnot.

But what have y'all missed?

Bodi did fine with me being away at work. No accidents in the house, he was just happy to get a walk and some company and lots of cuddles. Didn't seem resentful at all.

Work I lagged behind on Wednesday. Someone broke a perfume bottle in the bathroom of one room, and that stank wafted like nobodies business. Lots of pans and coffee grounds in a tray to absorb the scent (don't know how that works) On Thursday we changed up the system and Ginger and I double team cleaned two rooms, the two most involved rooms to clean (tubs + glass showers = extra work) and we did it in two hours! Helped to just grab the new sheets off the racks and with two people the beds get made in almost a quarter of the time. We're a dream time, go us!

And I did the floors and other bits and bobs. There's a lady who will be a part time innkeeper while the bosses are away so I did a bit of training of her on kitchen stuff.

I'm sick of this crockpot meal. It tastes weird. Maybe I can make mom and dad eat it. I don't like olives as it turns out. And I probably used the wrong basil.

And Friday was my day off! In fact I'm on a three day weekend, but not the same one everyone else has.

So today on my day off I slept in, had a little breakfast, went and got dirt for my planter box, and went to Falls View to take the loop hike. With Bodi, of course. It was a nice damp day and a family was chilling by the water. I said hello and carried on my way (Bodi is so eager to move about, he doesn't really sit for pets). It was a very nice hike and Bodi got very muddy but he was good and stayed put while I toweled him off. And I tethered him a bit till he was fully dry because I did not want mud tracked around. The house is a bit messier than I'd like, but nothing a modicum of effort won't alleviate.

And I put the dirt in the box and put the tree in the dirt and watered it and put mulch on top. I have lots of extra mulch! So I'm sure we'll put that to good use somewhere. Where's a good place to mulch? Maybe the peas bed.

And I fussed with my computer and drew and now it's time for bed. See you (Ma and Pa) in the morning!

that tub is cursed

Bonked my elbow something fierce on the tub at work. Big tubs are a pain to clean! And that tub proved to be trouble because turns out there was a drainage problem and now there's a bunch of drywall repair that is going to have to be done in the room below it. Major bummer!

Trained a little more on check ins and mostly did turns and fluffs and stuff. Not a bad day but I was really tired when I was done and took a hearty nap, then drew some, then had a hard time getting back to sleep due to the nap.
Arrived to find out about the room being out of commission. Turned two rooms, forgot about my pre-flights (that's my task weak point, I tend to forget them), did laundry, lots of folding. Stretched a few tasks out. Did the bathroom for the room that is temporarily not available, so when it is ready it can be good to go!

Then at home I played some FTL (getting better at it all the time, it's a fun game) and worked on my comics scripts and got the pages set up to draw. Just have to sketch them out now, and ink them, and color them. I wish I had more ready access to a copier because I don't know the best way to color them. Well subtle things get lost in Xerox? Hmm. I'll ask Daniel. I'm very pleased with how today's comic turned out because I drew it with no pre-sketch. Compare it to the one about the tub that was more sketched out. Both very different in gestures.

I really like how cool I look in the driving panel.

Time to go to bed I am up way past when I should be.

drawing on a countdown now

Worked today, and left Mom and Dad at home to not burn the house down. Hustled to get a few rooms fluffed fast, and then turned a room, and watered plants, and unloaded/loaded the dishwasher. Not such a heavy day. Swung by QFC and got s'mores fixings and other things.

Back at home the house was not burned down! Ate shrimp, rested my eyes, ate a burger, said adieu to M&D. Drew comic. Relaxed.

Today was a lethargic day, though I still drew a comic and roughly planned out a comic for LineworkNW. One that will be photocopied and given out to people, whee!

Played vidya games. Lots of FTL. Ate carbs. The uze.
