portrait work day

Just had some tea for breakfast, as there was no bread with which to make toast. Had some ramen with egg and Sunny D later. And I worked on portraits. Got the first three days of June up. Then whipped out Dolph Lundgren, Errol Flynn, Steve McQueen, and Harrison Ford. Watched Supernatural. I've watched, like, 11 episodes today. It is easily devoured.

Ma brought home takeout for dinner. Wrote up a card. Went on walkies with mom. Wrote up a "to pack" list for the upcoming two week vacation. Two weeks! On the road! Utah!

With dinner dispatched, I returned to drawing. Tim Minchin. Mitch Hedberg. John Hodgman. Still have quite a few to do and auto queue. Normally I don't say which ones are coming up, but since the amount of posting that will get done on my vacation will be spotty, I figured I might as well pimp the upcoming Portraits. They will be set to autopost, so continue checking Portraitoday.

mii and you

Ohhh ahh larger bits have flaked from my tattoo. The fine line work is stubborn but slowly and surely, it is being revealed. Huzzah!

Set my alarm for nine but still slept in. Came downstairs to an empty house so I had some tea and oatmeal and did the internet rounds. Sat in front of the fire and kept warm and watched Life on Mars.

Celia came over for a brief visit. That was nice.

Played Wii a bit. Made a little Wii character for The Doctor, Amy, Rory, and River Song. Ha, nerd. For dinner, Dad made a pasta salmon thingy. It was a bit dry but still good. The family sat down and watched the third episode of Sherlock on Netflix Instant Watch. Such a lovely little show, though some of the renditions of the characters are a bit weird (namely Mycroft and Moriarty).

They went to bed, I made Wii characters for Sherlock and Watson (mom helped me with my Doctor Mii a bit) and Mel and Kristen and Tabitha and Karen and Rollyn. I've always liked character creation type stuff.

Now I'm watching Supernatural (a show you only have to pay attention to a fourth of the time, which makes it great for background noise) and working on portraits. Need to get a lot done over the next couple days!

farewells go by so fast

I told ma and pa yesterday to come by at 10am. Wouldn't you know it, they came at 9! I had just enough time to shower and pour a glass of orange juice. There wasn't any parking available right on the street so day parked on 23rd. I ran down to school for a quick errand but found the school to be closed. Ma and Pa were busy taking nails out of the walls (that Natalie had left in and I hadn't bothered to take out) and they also took down my curtains and this shelf that Natalie had installed. Little needed to be packed up, so that was good. Just bedding and my computer. Before I knew it, it was time to load it all up. Dad double parked on 22nd and we got to it. First went in my chest of drawers and shelf stuff. Then my bike on the side. Then folding shelves. Boxes. Tubs. Boxes. Shelves. Little tubs. It all stacked and stacked and stacked and compacted. It went in so nicely and then BAM the mattress went on, I was hugging Kristen and Mark good bye and giving her my keys and then off I went. It just, ended. I was out of Portland before 11.

We drove through Castle Rock, trying to see the rock that looks like a castle, though it was nowhere to be seen. Stopped at a McDonald's for lunch. I napped the rest of the way home. Arrived at 3:20ish! Huzzah!

Spent about an hour getting the boxes and stuff into the minibarn. So much stuff. I unpacked the necessities (makeup, hair stuff, clothes) and Dad made quesedillas and I had a soda. Mom gave me a garden tour and then we settled in for some Wii and watched an episode of Doctor Who (Amy's Choice) on Netflix instant streaming. Now it isn't even 10pm and I AM IN BED. What the hell?

Tomorrow I will whip out another batch of portraits (need to get ahead again, especially since I have a vacation coming up).

days gone by, keep going by

Have my apartment packed up now, aside from my bedding, drapes, and rice cooker. Tomorrow will take some crazy Tetris skills to get it to all fit in the truck bed.

Rolled out of bed at 11ish. Showered. Tidied the bed up. Put my tubs and boxes on the bed and got to filling them up. Had a salad. Went to Mac and got some blush and eye liner. Got a card. At 3ish, Mom and Dad got into town and picked me up. They got a room at Kennedy School, which is a McMenamin's establishment. They took an old elementary school and converted it into a hotel/pool/theater/restaurant/bar. There are several little bars tucked away here and there (one in the old boiler room) and a large restaurant. It is really cool and expansive and I got lost a bit. Ma and Pa got a room named "The Art Room". How fitting. I had a blue cheese and bacon burger at the restaurant. Ma had the ahi tuna, dad had a different burger. Very good stuff. Movies are free with hotel room rental, so after dinner we went to see Rango. The animation was so good, though some of the character designs were a little too real for their own good (some things just don't make cute talking animals). Just amazing what we can do with technology.

We swung by Fred Meyer's on the way back home. Got some stuff, then I was dropped off at home. And spent a few hours packing the rest of it all. Food stuffs, toiletries. Still have some bits and bobs I'm sure.

Last night in Portland. It came and went so fast.
