Hey look! I updated yesterday AND I'm doing it today! How 'bout that. Going to try and be better about being regular, because if I do too much of nothing I forget what I've done.
I did my last chunk of work later tonight. A new batch for eBay.
I also vacuuming and did three loads of laundry. One big delicates load, and two smaller heavy loads (one light, one dark). I like to break up my laundry. Every now and again something wedges in the dryer and doesn't dry as it tumbles. Like it doesn't blog the tumble, it just gets stuck between the paddle and side.
Had noodles and yakult. Not together. Put cut avocado on creme cheese on toast for breakfast.
Watched Jessica Jones. Drank cocoa. Tidied up the house more. Tomorrow I pack up for the trip!
Note to self: pack board games, cooler, and clothes. Most importantly board games.

fire power
M - W
Last morning with Bodi went well. He let me sleep in even! What a sweet puppy. After breakfast I went over to Celia's and we took the boys for a walk. Went out to the point and saw great mycology. I headed out around 4ish to drop off Bodi. Met up with Boss in Poulsbo and when Bodi saw her, he was elated as usual. It was a quick switch around.
I swung by Goodwill to check out their denim jacket collection, but none were worth buying. I did find some rad earrings. One was large and jangly and ceramic. Very big.
From Silverdale, I went to Seabeck to hang with Ma and Pa for a little bit. A nice brief visit. Then I went back home.
Home was cold.
Tuesday I made a fire in the fireplace and sat in front of it. I did some work. I ate some s'mores. Basically relaxed. And today I didn't light a fire. Caught up on work emails. Did some more work from home. Watched a ton of Rick and Morty. Working on site tomorrow and going to a corn maze on Friday. Fun!

wax on wax off
Tuesday:
Last long day on the boat. Alarm went off at 7ish. Got out of bed at 8ish. Left 9ish to meet Dad at the boatish. I swung by QFC and got doughnuts. Bismark, raspberry filled, twist, old fashion, and maple bar. I ate the twist first, then later the bismark. Dad got the doughnut and maple bar. I ate the raspberry on the way home after a long day.
There were new boats in the yard. First I painted another coat on the boat. I did another 'nother stripe on the top. Helped dad with the sealant. And got to waxing later in the day. I was pretty splattered with paint, and got a bit pink. Not burned, just pink. Dad got McDonald's for dinner. Hurray! He followed behind me with the big buffer as I applied wax.
Got outta there just before 8. Sat very tiredly at home and crawled into bed.
Listened to Ready Player One, which is okay. Break from podcasts for other audio media.
Wednesday:
Slept in. Well actually I woke up, but lay awake thinking in bed letting my body relax.
I'm less worn out than I thought I would be. I wrote up an invoice for Dad for the boat work. I worked my other odd job. Snacked. Dropped off the invoice at the post office. Talked to Celia. I watched some Chopped.
Got a lot done! Now I got a bit of a break time.

snack attack/pink back/no shame
My power cut out last night, so I just went to bed instead of waiting for it to come back on.
Uhhh okay time to separate what happened on three days.
Today, Monday:
I got a slight sun burn! I showered and had a scramble and was like "the sun is out and it looks nice so I'm going to sit in the sun". At first I was just on the beach, but the tide came up and made it so the only bit of the beach that was dry was in the shade. So I pulled down the kayak and went out to the raft and set up there for some sunshine. Listened to podcasts and looked quite scandalous in my unmentionables because if I'm alone and there's no one on the water I'm not bothering with a Victorian swimming costume. Ha! Yeah. So I listened to podcasts, and then floated around a bit in the kayak while seals made eye contact with me.
Then I went into the shade and had some snacks and eye balled my skin. It's pink but it doesn't feel too awful. Hopefully it'll turn into a nice base tan. I want my childhood freckles back!
Celia gave me some soap and pointed out where a weird bee hive, possible wasp hive, nest is on the bank. Something to look out for!
I watched So You Think You Can Dance, and one of the dancers I was rooting for (the curly haired street dancer) went home. Such talent! Being able to learn choreography is the biggest deal breaker it seems. Loved seeing how the ladies in the street category totally slayed.
Sunday:
A gray, gloomy day. It even rained! I've been diligently watering my plants, so it was nice to take a break. I went into town and saw Spy, which was hilarious! There are so many good moments in that movie, and I look forward to double featuring it with Hot Fuzz. Loved the casting. I mainly rushed to see it once I knew Miranda Hart was in it! Chummy!
And I swung by Trader Joe's and picked up food and stuff. And cashola to give to some people that I owe cashola to.
Saturday:
Sat over at Celia's for a bit to get the primo internet to do some work from home stuff. Did my work. Gave Corbie a walk. Been watching the kitties and doggy because Celia was out of town for the weekend.
Had some pasta. Didn't get up to much else. Did some yard work and stood in the canal to cool off, that was nice.
It's been real nice to chill in the canal.
Now to buy some fireworks! Paid my P.U.D. bills, not only did it drop under three digits but it was almost twenty whole bucks cheaper than the last bill! Yuss!

I did my duty regarding the septic system
Monday:
Cleaned house and got up early, expecting Dad to arrive before noon but he showed up at like 12:35! So late! I didn't have any work from home to do today so I was able to help out. I helped get the boat in the water and load the crab traps up. I pulled bait out last night to use for today. A mix of scraps and giblets and salmon eggs from September. It was a perfect day for being out on the boat. We dropped two pots in a secret spot and puttered around the bay enjoying the sun. I stretched out on the bow of the little boat and got sunburned a little bit. Not much, but I did get pink. Dad and I hollered enthusiastically every time we saw a bald eagle, and we kept eye contact with my friendly neighborhood raccoon. Also I dug out some really good pink and white beach shoes that someone left here once upon a time. They fit wonderfully. No more loosing flip flops in the water!
We snacked out while waiting to pick up the crab pots. Sat out on the porch like champs.
A tree fell down on the beach. A big one! But it didn't wreck anything.
The waters were rougher when we went out to retrieve the pots, and I got damp up in the front. The first pot had three lady crabs, so they had to be sent back. The second pot had three boy crabs and they were all above the minimum limit size so yum nums they were ours!
We tied up the boat and hauled up the crabs. Dad got to boiling the water to cook the crabs. He chopped them right in half, cleaned out the guts, and in they went into the water and fifteen minutes later out they came all smelling of goodness. While they cooled down I got rice going and washed dishes. Dad showed me how to clean crab, and only a few bits of shell have been found in the crab since! It's time consuming but worth it for good crab. Yum.
I made a "deconstructed sushi" and Celia came over at just the right time to partake. I had the little seaweed rectangles from TJ's and on top of those we would plop rice and crab, and maybe a bit of soy sauce or tartar sauce or cocktail sauce if we fancied. A lovely little appetizer.
Celia departed and So You Think You Can Dance was on and Dad made burgers and we ate the burgers and watched telly. Some good dancing on that show, fo' sho.
After Dad went to sleep I worked on a little project that I shant go into detail with here, but I stayed up way too late doing it.
Tuesday:
The tide was super low and Dad and I walked along the beach and looked at what was left behind. There were a few clam spurts, and fish under rocks, and a few starfish! We picked up those starfish and flung them out further to sea. Maybe should have instead left them high and dry for the eagles. Gggrrr starfish. Decimated our oysters! No sign of Rocket the Raccoon.
We finally faced the music and checked the septic tank. Smelly indeed. Dad poked at the "scum" and "sludge" with a stick and I wrote down the measurements. It needs to be pumped. I washed the filter with the hose and we put the top back on tank, and we were free! Free from poking the poop container with a stick! Hurray! We celebrated by trimming the tree that fell. Trimmed off branches and cut off the good firewood pieces and put them on the seawall. The tree is still there, but it's less of a tangle hazard.
More burgers were consumed. I moved the potted pumpkin to a better spot, I watered the garden. Dad did stuff too. Then left. I'll see them all again real soon.
I had the remaining hot dog for dinner and got to working on some presents. Have a gift to give, but I gotta make it. So I finished watched Orange is the New Black (I really liked this season, it was less hectic and more just character driven) and worked on personal projects. It felt good to work on what I've been wanting to work on.
So a busy couple days, but a good busy. Got guests coming up soon, multiple guests! But I'm also working on site tomorrow and I'm already up far too late for that.

water boating
Monday:
Did some work. Had to patio laptop it. Help dad strip wire to repair the bottom of my paddle boat. The wire is to hold the split together, so that the sealant doesn't pop open randomly. Or something. Got the boat patched. Got wood cut for the seat backs for the boat. Oh! Dad made poached eggs and put it on toast with hollandaise sauce over it and it was SCRUMPTIOUS!
I don't think I helped with anything else...
Dinner was salad with dessert of filo cups with ice cream. Then So You Think You Can Dance was on so we indulged in that! Hurray for dancing.
Tuesday:
I've been waking up early, but that's mostly because the light is shining in my face at 5 am. But still not getting out of bed all that early.
Got work from home stuff done. Sat out on the patio to get the best signal and got stuff done, woohoo! Snacked. Second breakfast was made by Mom. Thrice fried potatoes and scrambled eggs. Mmmm delicious! Ma and Pa went swimming and kayaking (there are some sweet new kayak racks up), and then after Dad and I hauled the paddle boat into the water to test it out, and the test was successful! It leaked a bit at the foot peddle wells, but no apparent leaks on the bottom! Hurray! I paddled about, Dad joined me, Dad switched out with Mom, Mom went to the back seat and Celia joined us, AND Corbie climbed aboard. We paddled about and had a great time. It would be great leg exercise if only it weren't so heavy and hard to haul up and down.
I ate the remaining salad and hugged Ma and Pa goodbye as they hauled out with their stuff.
Chilled the rest of the night away.

pulali person
Monday:
I removed my earring to see how it was healing, and I dropped the front part of the stud and have been unable to locate it. I heard it hit the ground but not bounce, so I fear that maybe it went under something in the bathroom. Bummer. I can buy the same-ish earring easily enough (well not easily, I have to go to the shop, but it isn't like I lost one of only two earrings) but I don't wanna. So now I'm back to silver loop in my left ear, and the tiger's eye in the right. It's still healing. That damn scar tissue is being a brat.
I worked from home a bit and got things online for the store.
I made such a minor deal about making longer posts and now I can't think of what else that I did to fill out this day. I watched the Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell adaptation, well, the first episode of it anyway. And other TV.
The weather was nice and warm.
I microwaved some popcorn but it turns out that it had expired in October 2008, and the faux butter was totally nasty. Made it taste just...uhg horrible. Popcorn expires! Well the bagged kind does, at least.
Tuesday:
Watered the garden and turned the fungus dirt. It is still whiteish looking. I wonder if it will dry out and properly die? I think I saw some growth in the carrots. Do seeds die?
Slept in. I've been sleeping in too much, but my bed is so warm and cozy.
Going to be on site tomorrow.
Dang! How can I not get a decent paragraph about today. I've been listening to Game Grumps as background noise while I work.

solstice, that is the color
Well my Internet
is down, so I can’t upload…so I’ll just write up three days worth of posts and
post it hopefully on Thursday.
Monday
Worked from home
doing work from home stuff. Edited photos. Edited online stuff. I’ve been
watching Fresh Off The Boat, which is pretty cute.
Tuesday
Worked on site!
Helped pack things, and organize, and photograph, and also discussed business
strategems. Boss treated me to lunch out, and we both had the eggs benedict but
consumed in very different manners. And my government check went through so now
I have sweet, sweet moolah!
Afterwork I did
some shopping in Silverdale. I went to Sephora to see if they had this
eyeshadow (this shining blue/brown color) but they didn’t have it (also I need
to make sure it was an Urban Decay brand of eye shadow, it may not have been).
On the way to Sephora, I walked through JC Penney and there was this CUTE
pineapple pattern dress, and I tried it on and it fit and it looks so cute.
It’s a great length, it’s not dry clean only. Love it, bought it. Oh and it was
on sale.
A Target run
later, I went to see It Follows at the Regal in Poulsbo. It was a horror movie,
more atmospheric then gore slasher type stuff. I’d heard good buzz, so why not?
It was indeed freaky and had some great camera work and excellent plinky plonky
music. If you want a horror movie, watch this one! And I was only a little bit
scared walking back to my
house…home….alone.
Wednesday
Internet was
down all day! Well it came back when I did a bunch of resets, but only for a few
minutes then it went away again. Harumpf! So I watched what TV I had, ate
pasta, listened to podcasts, edited photos for work, and negotiated with Celia
who would be here tomorrow to talk to the CenturyLink guy about it. I’m staying
and hoping he comes early so I could head into work, otherwise I’ll work on
Sunday. Ma & Pa, expect my paycheck to be mailed maybe!
So that’s a
bummer.
Hopefully the
internet guy comes early, and I can go to work and I can get the internet up
and all that…ho hummm.
Thursday
Internet is back!!! I got up early and then hung around Celia's when I got the headsup that the guy was coming in to check the line. The modem was faulty, so he replaced it and now we have internet again, hurray!
I packed up, put on better clothes, and went to work. I photographed and boxed up lamps and things. Then worked on editing down photos. Had pasta and pizza for lunch. Mmm carbs and red sauce.
I deposited my paychecks and withdrew some money and tucked that money into an envelope and gave it to Mom and Dad at the Audubon meeting in Poulsbo, then I went home and had dinner and relaxed and watched TV and got caught up on the Internet.

and the month is almost gone
Might have a lead on our chairs for work. I edited photos and organized the website. I accidentally turned off my alarm, so I wasn't out of bed till past noon. Whoops.
Trying to eat more salad. Salad out of a bag without many toppings beyond dressing, yeah...but still...veggies! Yay!
I got two mice in the glue trap, so I drowned them. I should get one of those electric mice wards. They only seem to be getting into that one room, but I don't want them getting further into the house. Least of all my food!
So mice. Work. Salad. And now English arctic murder drama: Fortitude! Luke Treadaway is in it. I like them Treadaway brothers.

the two week hermit begins
Friday:
Slept in. Had a scramble. Worked from home on client billings. Got those spreadsheets together and sent off. Whoo!! I watched a whole bunch of The Comeback which was tragic and difficult to watch but damn it's good once you get through the heartbreak. Didn't leave the house. But I am amassing a to do list.
Saturday:
Helped Celia set up the new modem, and now our internet is faster! WHOO!! Celia didn't agree to my wifi password suggestion though. In the afternoon I made a much needed grocery run, so now I'm set on eggs and bacon and carbs and juice. Celia made lamb curry and I gobbled down two bowls with tea and we watched the first two episodes of Sherlock because Celia has never seen them! I got massively congested and I'm just now breathing right. So allergic to cats but I love cuddling them.
Now I'm onto the second season of The Comeback. Monday errands will be depositing my paycheck.

first friend visit!
Slacking on the blog again! Sorry! I'm not up to much these days, so there isn't much enthusiasm in the reporting. Today I slept in and fought the urge to nap all day long. I tidied up, stoked a fire, read in front of the fire, hung out with Celia and watched some Call the Midwife. It was a rainy windy day, but it also cleared up here and there.
My friend Marcus came over, but didn't stay as he had to work early the next day. Nice of him to come out all this way though! We played Monopoly, caught up on the news, watched Spice World, and said our goodbyes.
I've just been loafing about. Gotta buckle down and get a job! WORK TRILLIAN! WORK!
Yeah. Just holding down the fort.

wednesday tuesday
It's been just over a week since I got back. It feels much longer. I guess when you've been on the road for so long, a few days counts for more than it does when you are just working for the weekend. I don't think I've really digested all that I've done. When I have the time to really do the analysis of it all, then maybe it'll come into scope.
Anyway, today I got my food workers certification! 100% on the online test! Which was this weird flash animation thing that didn't feel all that formal, but hey I learned something! Now I can apply for a wider variety of jobs. Ma, Pa and I went into town. Car parts, Joy Teriyaki (they have removed the polaroids from the walls, sadly), Albertson's. We ate the teriyaki takeout in the park by the water. That hasn't changed.
At home I took the food handler's test, and then worked on my resume. It's at a passable place right now. Could use some tweaking, and as I apply to more jobs it'll be tweaked more. But it's good to have a resume! That's a nice thing to have in order before I go to Santa Cruz and gather my things.
We watched the So You Think You Can Dance finale, it was very sweet and charming and darling. Good for Ricky!
I'm currently watching these days: The Strain, Utopia (not the Fox show, the BBC one), and The Tunnel.
Tomorrow I'll go drop off my resume and stuff. That'll take some time.

I'm currently watching these days: The Strain, Utopia (not the Fox show, the BBC one), and The Tunnel.

back in the 'Beck
I need to get back int he daily blogging habit, now that I have regular access to wifi! Wifi, a bath, a bed, food. All that good stuff. I am in Seabeck, Washington for the next few days. Then I pack up and go to Pulali and drop my things off there, and then I go down to Santa Cruz, get my stuff, and come up and settle in and then I go and find a job so I can buy things! And pay bills!
My parents were camping at Takhlakh Lake near Mt. Adams in Washington and I set out on the 25th to meet them. I went up I5 then over onto 90 and then 23, and boy were the roads bad! Just miles of dirt washboard. Way worse than Theodore Roosevelt NP. Come on! My poor car, it has been through so much and right here at the end, this? But I got to the campsite and was greeted with much enthusiasm. We had ribs for dinner and cocoa and did a bit of kayaking on the lake and there was an osprey.
I set up my tent and slept in there, instead of in my parent's motorhome. A nice conclusion to the trip. One final use before it gets put away for a little while. It has served me well, if only I could have pitched it more often. I was woken up on the 26th to a plate of bacon coming through my tent flap. Mom knows me so well! I got up for pancakes, and we took a little stroll to the lava flow and meadow. Up on the flow was a gorgeous view of the areas and the mountains. Glad to be back in Washington.
I was first to depart. Got some gas and the gas station had cheerwine! Booyah! Gas and snacks and away I went. Not many hours of driving to do. Got a speeding ticket. 66 in a 55. I was unsure what the speed was and was keeping pace with the rest and I got nabbed out of the lot. I think I'll ask for a court date. I have the time to show up whenever and argue it down. Clean record, first infraction, and I thought it was 65. 48 states and I get the ticket in Washington! Bah! Oh well.
So I5, then 101, then 3? I suppose. Allyn towards Bremerton then into Seabeck and home. Did laundry. Unpacked. We ate dinner and went to bed.
Today, the 27th, I gave my car a lengthy car wash. I worked hard to scrape the bug splat off. It was really securely on there. But oh on a whole my car looks so much better! And it will be tops once I can empty it out and give it another vacuum. It's not many miles from a quarter million now. I helped Dad with the electrics of the van. He said that if he took a trip like mine, he'd be sleeping for three days.
Dinner was clams and garlic bread with garlic butter popcorn for dessert. We watched the So You Think You Can Dance finale and oh they are all such precious darlings. I wish they could all win! Such great talent.
Oh I also went into town with mom for groceries.
So a few more relaxing days in Seabeck. And by relaxing I'll be helping out around the house and with getting the van ready to tow a Uhaul up from Santa Cruz.

nicey nice
Ended up being a shorter day. But I don't mind. Having extra time is nice. Lets my mind unwind.
I taped screens, I burned a few more, I counted in a few jobs. The sweatpants have been run for the order, so that is good. And half the shorts. Got some smaller jobs in the works, but it also looks like a few of the bigger ones.
At home, Tara and I watched the first episode of The 10th Kingdom. Justin and Jeff joined us and it was a nice little viewing party! Such a great miniseries.
Had tea and rice scramble thingy for dinner. Now I can't tell if I'm tired or wired. So I'll just watch some more stuff and then maybe read some stuff.

puffed up & and yay for Steve McQueen
Slept way in. When I woke up I was just so comfy in bed. I had the thought of getting up early, but then I fell back asleep and that thought was gone.
Had several cuppa tea. Made and ate Mac N Cheese. Watched the Oscars. Lupita Nyong'o won, which was awesome! The In Memoriam was really sad this year.
Made a Trader Joe's run. The cashier really liked my Tomer Hanuka bag.
Then I watched Girls and the episode focused on her mother and aunts drama surrounding the death of her grandma and it just felt so familiar in many ways. Now I'm watching True Detective and eating some cheese puffs.
Just kidding!
I'm eating corn puffs.

it's a funny show
I'm watching Broad City and it is great. Very much recommend it.
Work! Worked today! But not a whole day, well not the full 8 hours. But going a bit light is nice. We ran shirts. Fronts, sleeves, backs. Nice and easy.
Weather was good. Sun was out but it wasn't that hot.
Had some edamame and tea for dinner. Watched Broad City.

pink and lemon and gray
My hoodie and track jacket arrived! I ordered them through wholesale, so they were a third the price. Booyah! My hoodie is brighter than the picture indicates. It makes me so cheery.
We ran the lower print, back prints, and front prints on a job today. Still have 8 windbreakers, but that'll be done tomorrow. It was warm and calm and all went well.
Washed my work shirts. Finished the second series of Call the Midwife and I'm almost done with Luther. But now I wanna go to bed and read! I'm reading Gone Girl and it's grabbed me and now I must read more of it!
Also Guardians of the Galaxy looks boss.

Cillian Murphy is in it
Had a full day at work, with lots of running around and odds and ends getting stuff done. Hoodies and tees were run. Lots of hoodies. Still more hoodies to go. But nice to be printing big orders, instead of tinkering and problem solving. I did an inventory. I ordered two sweatshirts wholesale for myself. Nice ones. I'm stoked for them to arrive. Nice to have the work wholesale discount.
I also put grommits in some banners which Ryan had cut and coated screens. A nice day.
Had some dinner. Had some tea. Watched the first episode of Peaky Blinders, which has film work that is trying WAY too hard. Good actors and sets and costumes (period crime drama) but overall...damn the filming is annoying.
Weekend!!

toosdey
I was feeling a bit down all day, and a bit scatter brained. Dunno why. Will try to go to bed earlier tonight and see if more sleep does anything. I didn't get the best night sleep.
I didn't blow my nose ONCE today! I've rarely been doing it since I've been having my honey. It's still early, but I have no reason to stop.
Oy yoi yoi. I'm watching Call the Midwife, a period show about, well, midwifes, and due to all the screaming birthing mothers I keep turning the volume down. It's a bit awkward to be overheard watching. It's on Netflix Instant!
Caught shirts at work. Did some custom jerseys. Weeded vinyl. Coated screens. Like I said, I was scatterbrained and not on my A game.
It was a nice sunny day. Rain came. Rain went.

can always count on Mom to comment on my blog
Edamame is just the best thing ever. Had a nice little lateish night snack of it.
At work I played Electric Six, Odd Owl, Gorillaz, and Beck. And finished with some podcasts when I was the last one there weeding vinyl. Almost done weeding!
I also counted out some shirts and sweatshirts. We got a huge shirt order in today, so we got some overhall print jobs coming soon. That'll be good. I also did two big banners, but they didn't need to be banner taped, so that's good!
At home I snacked. Watched Archer and Spoils of Babylon.
Now I shall cozy up into bed. Trying this whole getting to bed earlier thing, and being well rested. Also, reading is cool!
