Just dropped "The American Art Book" on that maybe brown recluse. I think it had made a home in the curtain, because when I unfurled the curtain, it suddenly showed up. The carpet has a lot of give, so I don't know how dead it actually is. I'll maybe pile some more books on it before I go to bed and leave it as is.
When I was descending the stairs last night, my foot slipped to the side and my pinky toe caught the edge of the stair and twisted up. It still hurts, and it is very red, though just on the red side of purple, so it's not really so bruised but maybe by tomorrow? I don't know if it broken. I can touch and move my toe a little bit with just minor tenderness, but yanking on it really hurts. I'm icing and not icing and keeping it elevated. I can still sort of walk on it. Shoes will be an interesting thing tomorrow.
Monday in Seattle was super fun! We left the house at around 10:30ish. I rested my eyes a little bit. Dad stopped at one marine store, and then we went to this other where he met a dude who bought the old stove from the new boat. Then we went to another marine store in Ballard and bought a better stove and some tubing and other boat stuff. Boats need a lot of specific stuff! We swung by the Fremont Troll, which had some ugly defacement on it. And we got lunch at Ivar's and Dad fed a fry to a starling. Mom & I split a five piece order of fish and chips. Dad got some clams. I love me some Ivar's fish and chips. I could eat so many more of them. Then it was Ikea time!! Ikea for Billys for Ma & Pa. Ikea for frames for me. And a rug and some other odds and ends because wheee Ikea!! We stuffed everything into the van, and then got meatballs and cake and salad and panini for a later lunch. Need our energy for the two hours back to Seabeck! I chilled at home for a bit. Got some tea. packed up my car. Ma and Pa are working on the house, so things are being rearranged and moved about. New flooring! So long green and blue, it's been a few decades.
I swung by Target and grabbed a couple 18x24 frames (marked down) and 8x10 (also marked down) and headed back to Pulali. Injured my foot, but thankfully it was right before bed so I was able to keep it elevated right after initial injury. I slept in, had some cocoa and read for a few hours, had some pasta, put the new black ink cartridge into the printer. Fiddled with my resume and tidied it up and printed it out and it looks so pretty. I scanned some interview tips.
In a way having the injury is good because it was able to distract me from being nervous. Who can be nervous when maybe your foot is broken?
So yeah, pile books on the spider and go to bed and go to interview at noon!
Wish me luck!

Nathan is awesome. Having a proper room set up is awesome.
Nathan was super awesome today. Took me to Ikea. Helped me get stuff from Ikea to my house. Helped me assemble stuff. Though he did do one thing backwards, but that was easily fixed. Hurray Nathan!
In case you are unaware, because sometimes I like to pretend that people who are not my Mom and Dad read my blog, Nathan is my brother.
Also Jared, you read my blog. Hi Jared! I think you knew Nate was my brother, but if you didn't there it is.
I set my alarm for 8, and it took my a while to realize why my alarm was going off. I got up, and did the routine, but I still was a bit slow leaving the house. Arrived in Redwood City at around 1ish. Got the extra futon and my buffalo plush.
Then off we went to Ikea! No trip to the blue and yellow mecca of flat pack is complete without starting with meatballs, and start we did. I had already scoped out stuff online, so I had a good idea about what things were on sale and what wasn't worth a gander. I started with a white color scheme, but it ended up being a natural wood (see: really basic) frame bed, with a dark brown bed side table (that is technically a coffee table), a dark gray metal shelf unit, and black legs for a white table top. I've been organizing my room, and there is a sort of division between the bedroom side and the art side, and with the table and already installed shelf both being white, it makes one side white, the other black, in scheme. Though with bits of red and blue throughout. Anyway, it all ties together. I want a comfy chair to go in the now freed corner. Like, a papasan or something. I also got an underbed storage thing, that is actually big enough to fit my shirts and trousers, so no need for a chest of drawers, unless I procure a lot more clothes. I also got a trashbin and some frames, and Nate got some things as well.
Traffic was a nightmare at this one intersection, because douchers kept pulling too far forward and blocking the intersection.
We assembled the desk first, then the bed, then I did the end table while Nate did the shelves. Then we ate enchilada casserole and cupcakes and watched the second episode of the fifth season of Breaking Bad. Nathan left after that, and he took some leftover casserole with him. Almost finished that beast off!
My bed looks nice. Can't wait to test it out! I'm off the floor, though not by much.
I hung some art up, the art that would fit in frames anyway, and also did a little tack + cut out image thingy for me to hang by necklaces and other small hangable stuff from. Now that's all in a line and it looks okay. Trying to not use tacks except where proper, like with calenders. I put a bunch of glue on my chipped/cracked Glam Breakfast mug, so now it is a pen holding mug. Now I have a desk, and a bed, and my room seems like a room. I'm getting situated! I'm thankful that I have a bit of time to continue to situate, and it isn't just straight back to work.

Rabbit Sunday
Nathan is playing Assassin's Creed and I'm...not doing anything of note.
I had toast and tea for breakfast. It was another beautiful day. Though maybe I should make note when it isn't a nice day, as I think California is typically nice.
In the afternoon, Nate and I went to the Palo Alto Ikea. Unlike this Portland Ikea, this one had patio displays. Patios are not big in Portland. Ha. We got shower organizers, a proper dish drainer, a computer chair for yours truly (in red, which goes against Nathan's color scheme of black), some cloth organizers for the cubicle divider, and other miscellaneous stuff. A good trip for some good essentials. Afterwards we got meatballs, because meatballs are awesome. Also shared a slice of cake. Nathan is treating me so nice. I'll make lasagna tomorrow night, then Nate can have some for lunch. Booyah!
For dinner, Nate, Oleg, and I went down the street to Milagros. Tasty Mexican food. I had the chicken mole enchilada, and it was scrumptious. We had chips aplenty. There are some really nice places in the neighborhood. The theater is just down the street a bit, need to see a movie there.
After dinner, we just are chilling out. If I don't have my resumes sorted out by next blog post, feel free to call and yell at me, okay? Deal? Deal.

frame up
Crawled out of bed to another rainy day. Oh well. Had my breakfast.
Bekka came over at 1:30. She was in Copenhagen for three months but couldn't stand the weather and came back, and now she works as a design assistant! Way cool! We gabbed for a few hours. Ate lasagna. It was a nice visit. Now that she is going to PSU and all that, we need to hang more. Bekka is cool cool cool.
Anyway, she left at 4 and Karen showed up for Ikea time! Treated her to meatballs in thanks for the ride. We gobbled them down, because well...meatballs are delicious! It wasn't a major Ikea trip. Didn't go through the showrooms. I picked up another towel and then went to the frames department. There was a 3 for 1.99 frame pack, but the edges were really cheap, and a simple 4 for .99 set with clips. Guess which ones I bought ten of? So yeah, giving away a bit of what I've giving for Christmas, but it won't be all that I give.
Then we went back. I chilled at home for a bit but then went to school to work on my animation. Color corrected some bits. Got it into the file. Took some tweaking but it is getting there, inch by inch. I'm not really feeling the little owl yet.
When it was nearing closing, Mel and I went to Yur's. I didn't have my wallet, but I've sat at Yur's without being checked (or ordering) before. This time they were all "no wallet, can't have you here". Boo. So I left and changed my mind and grabbed my wallet but when I got back, Mel had left. So I rode around a bit at night. It was a good night for it. A little damp, but quiet.
Then I snacked on food, planned out the next couple days, and watched The Terminator. I'm feeling tired, so I think I'll go to bed early. Get up. Draw. Get paper. Print. Animate. Go to bed. Monday is more printing (wrapping paper) and getting the proposal thesis CD stuff in order. I don't think I'll print my mailer just yet. I want to get it nice and squared away and awesome. Not somewhat decent. Tuesday is the final Professional Practices. Turn in stuff, chill. Then sketch stuff for Advanced Illustration, survey for Advanced...touch up animation and yoga. Then turn all that stuff in on Wednesday.
The thesis zine is giving me problems. Maybe I should just make it a poster. There are 11 7"x5 1/2" spreads.

spooky dusty crinkly potato chip
Abdi won! Yay! He had a really great final piece though I was worried because it felt like they were praising Peregrine's artwork more. Miles produced a good show but it did feel really work in progress.
I voted for Lauren. She did so well on the So You Think You Can Dance finale.
Had leftover cheeseburger bacon pasta for dinner. Mmmm! So good.
Tidied up. Put my art supplies in a plastic tub instead of a box for better transportation. Assembled my new Ikea stool so I can easily reach up for stuff. Technically it isn't a "for standing on" stool but it can support 220 pounds, so I think I'm good for the time being. Just have to be careful. Forget how I filled up the rest of my day. Something.
Saw Lacey's apartment when Karen and I dropped her off after our day trip. Nice little studio. Almost poked her cat with a rod though. Sweet little Murmur.
Karen, Lacey, and I went to Ikea. The average time spent at Ikea is 3-5 hours. Such a big mistake to try and rush it. I saw so many things that I missed: 4.99 tabletop ironing board. Cute 5$ brackets (there were cheaper ones, but these brackets are stylin') with cheap blue shelf boards that almost match my walls. Handy little bathroom container for makeup. Stool. And a couple other things including a cute cut of cloth. It was a good, lengthy trip. 11-2:30 about. Lacey got curtains and rods galore. Karen got some little things and some Christmas gifts for her nieces. It was a long slow wander. Oh I got some tea lights as well and a super discounted holder set. Oh and naturally we started with meatballs and cake. mmmmm!
When I was picked up BT and his friend Liz were in the car. Liz is nice. They were dropped off at Jam and didn't join us. Boo on them. Oh well.
Sluggish start to the day. Knee hurt all the way through along with my ankle.
I need a level to put up my shelves. I'll wait though, I need to organize my books.
